We have a very talented group of players, and our success thus far is indicative of the players Phil amassed via FA and the draft. We are a much improve team, and the league has now noticed us
A little early for that, but when you have guys like Lance Thomas and Lou Amundson contributing to wins off of 1 year vet minimum contracts, he'll be in the discussion.
It's gotta be Bob Myers of the Warriors.
So far his moves have looked real good. Still too early

We are by far the most improved team in the league. He turned over the roster, and drafted two unknown studs in KP and Grant

they were both known.

yes
Brilliant. Too early to think of the playoffs, but not too early to give Phil an award for a season that just started.

Key word: SHOULD. It is not a definite that it will be:::)))

Right, just like I talked about a POSSIBLE postseason run.
Just giving you a taste of your own medicine.
Thread should have been: "If Knicks reach playoffs-Phil might be Exec of the year."
As for GS, unless you are giving their guy the award because he did not get it before, I don't believe he should get it this year for a team that won the title last year.
If...and it is a major "if," we were to actually get into the playoffs, or even finish at .500, I cannot see how Phil would not be a top 2 candidate for the award...but we are a long way off from this potential situation.

So you're saying that it's your belief that Mills is pulling the strings and should get the award?
Of course he was there when the draft order was picked and we got #4.

Kind of figured you were not.
Remember, though, it was Mills along with Gaines who did the overseas scouting of KP and Hernangomez...maybe it was Mills who convinced Gaines that KP might be worth our pick...
Phil sure has turned this team around. I said it earlier, I loved what he put together.
And now KP, who I always loved is just... WOW??? What can you say.
And we have to look forward to Hernangomez next year? Really? Wow??? LOL
If we finish above .500 and KP looks great, we should be able to attract FAs this time

I think Phil got what he wanted in free agency aside from Aldridge. Also it seems like a smart decision to say Porzingis is our power forward.

Aldridge and D Jordan. RoLo was our 3rd choice for big men.
Not getting a top name was a blessing. Phil was able to use some of the money to contract other guys.

Fisher winning those last two games was a blessing. And I said this when everybody was bashing Fisher. I knew KP was going to be a beast, so I wasn't worried about picking 4th. I just didn't think it would happen this quick.
