Try to not say something bad about Melo. If you can't. You are just hating. You don't have to say something nice. But it's weak after winning 4 in a row seeing "Melo should have sat" or "Melo didn't pass enough" b

Keep it up. The ignore list is growing.

Go Knicks. Boo haters.

melo haters and melo lovers are equally annoying. I just try to be objective. He played well last night but played poorly tonight...its that simple

He didn't play poorly. If any other Knick had his game he'd be called out for a nice contribution.

14 and 6 doesn't grow on trees in the NBA.

There may well indeed be Melo lovers. But there is a third category as well. They're in the "can you really not let Melo go 15 mins after a road win?' camp.

14/6/0/3

I'll take it.

its ok to have nights like this sometimes but not too often if you are the super super star. He needs to constantly create shots for his teammates. He does not understand that this is a priority.

what kind of super star at his level never has a 10 assist game? None.

Maybe he's not the super super star you think him to be?

maybe but its hard to come to grips with that for me. I think that he can do all these things if he just wanted to.

he had a big 3 but other that he had a off game. I mean being honest about it doesnt make you a hater

The point is less the subjective opinion of whether he had a good, okay or off night.

The more relevant question is its relevancy?

Knickw won. They not only held onto a 4th quarter lead, THEY were the team who executed in the final 5 mins.

Why is this individual contribution even a thing?

It's weird.

True, it's really all about the team. KP with 7 blocks playing great team defense.

Great job with Fish pulling Melo for the offense-defense sub, and surprisingly heady play by Hose-A.

Great team performance despite another rough performance by Melo

If Melo doesn't break out of his shooting woes then it will be close like it is now. I just like the fact that they are both doing well on both sides of the ball.

Melo is holding players 14.5% below their avg. I think players are shooting somewhere in the 35-39% range against him.

KP is like Walt says up and down on both sides but he seems to never play back to back bad games.

up and down for now. first time through the league. he is an incredibly quick study, seems to adapt his game immediately on both ends of the floor, especially on defense. next time he faces the same team we should expect him to have learned from the first game, and then who knows?

and he is a new york knickerbocker....

ok ... lets say just a star or whatever level. He needs to move the ball and not think of himself as the first option every time he touches it.

After tonight, melo is about his career avg for assists. Not the great new improved melo that everyone is gaga about.

He may becoming the highest paid decoy of all time.

I been saying in almost thread.

Robin Melo is the key to this season. KP will eventually take the reins of the offense the same way he's already the key to the defense.

Melo has to take 10 smart shots a game, play D, and dish like he did in Charlotte.

Also he should tell Fisher to sit back end of back to backs. No legs.

if melo dished then he would not be triple teamed every play and it would open his game. Don't care how many shots he takes as long as they are good ones.

No you aren't. You're relitigating a game already played and won.

You said it yourself, he's AVERAGING around his career figures. Which means tonight's 0 has no predictive value for the next game or any other game. He's gonna have his 5s and his 4s and his 3s and 2s etc…

You're fixating over something that doesn't represent his game, because what's most interesting to you in a road game won is a poor showing in one or two statistical categories.

Not big picture - micro picture, of a successful team outing now in the past.

Not big picture - micro picture, of a successful team outing now in the past.

that is not interesting to me tonight, its what I care about every game. If he has a good passing, I call it out too. I am fixating on melo's passing and have been for too long.

every season I go into it with new hope that this is going to be the year that Melo realizes what he needs to get to the next level and becomes the unselfish player that we need him to be.

I am a jilted fan what can I say.

Not all this.

You seem to phase in and out of being very reasonable.

Surely you can see the Melo vs. Porzingis dynamic that gets so much run around here is utterly and strangely irrelevant.

I have not been part of the him vs. KP stuff

I consistently ride melo for not passing and will do it after every game that he doesn't.

Right, because that'll help.

help? How are you helping?

I'm not.

I'm having an exchange with someone I can communicate with directly.

You're "riding Melo" from afar and he'll never hear it. Hence, the inability to get past it.

True. We should all stop praising him too.

I am looking for group therapy to deal with my dissapointment

For all the work Melo's put into the off-season, he's been terribly disappointing this season so far. 2 or 3 maybe "vintage" Melo performances. Mostly mediocre.

Thankfully KP's been picking up the slack. I'm ecstatic as we all should be! !!!!!
