Because we are winning with who is playing. 13 deep. Not everyone can play. I'd say the emergence admunson has been the primary factor. Dwill has made his way back and koq put in some minutes over the weekend.
Play well. Play defense. Share the ball. Get minutes.

Yup...
...But if Williams continues to box out like he did against Houston his minutes will be down again, too.
There's a reason Capela was getting so many offensive rebounds the other night...guys were standing around looking and not bodying up-and Williams was a major culprit. Its why he was taken out the other night.
Surprised about KOQ seeming to fade as he has, but I expect he'll resurface at some point and Fisher will reward him.
my beef with KOQ is he really cant defend 4s, so that makes him a backup 5. Now we have Seraphin there, who has clearly made some adjustments and went from black hole to really playing nice team ball on both ends of the court.
Rotation wise I would put Seraphin ahead of KOQ at the backup 5.
Vs. Houston we played KP at the 5 and Melo at the 4 with great success. Another rotation squeeze for KOQ
I still like KOQ, but he's looking more and more like a depth signing. A guy who plays minutes based on size and matchups and ends up averaging 15-18 a game.
I still love the signing. I mean $4mm for a rugged guy who can play some 4-5 and do some things is solid. So long as he doesnt sour on his role he continues to be a nice piece moving forward. His post game is downright offensive

In preseason fans were wondering how O'Quinn was signed to such a cheap deal.
How Grant slipped to 19.
Give it time, the NBA as a body knows what it's doing more than we give it credit for.
O'Quinn's father died over the summer, that could have something to do with his recent play. Might need more time to cope.

I agree, but some were calling it a steal. Wondering how and why Orlando let him go. Value signing I agree. But he has his warts.
He's just going through a tough period right now. Sometimes it takes days, months or years to get over family pain. This is why he was so motivated to play earlier in the season, at the garden in front of family. But now that first few games of playing for your home team is over. He's back to facing real life issues. I'm still recoverying from my parents passing, and it's over 13 years now. It's only been this summer for KOQ? Thats a very recent issue. Right now, it might be a blessing, because Seraphin is only short time, and we need to decided if we are going to keep him or trade him. KOQ is on a longer contract.
Outside of personal issues, I always liked Seraphin and I never saw KOQ play. So I'm going to be bias and say keep Seraphin (a volume scorer in the post) and trade KOQ if needed (very cheap contract). Or keep him as a very solid locker room leader and big man insurance.

He seemed more confident early on, a was doing some things we are not seeing now, including some short step back J's.
There were a few games where he was getting blocked a lot inside, and he seemed to lose his mojo after that.
Hopefully he gets on track again.

It is way too soon to look to trade KOQ. We don't have enough of a sample of him to justify tha he is not a good fit. The dude showed me a lot in the games that he has played more then 10 minutes. He is a great passer for a big, has a decent jump shot, and is a hell of a protector in the paint. I like him over Seraphin if you ask me. I don't know why he is not getting minutes under Fisher, but I hope he soon gets to play.

As blkexec alluded to, being able to channel that grief into something positive probably kept him going for a while, but its not a cure all. Dont believe we should trade a local product who just lost his Dad, this season anyway. We saw what O'Quinn can do when he is firing on all cylinders, he's worth the team being patient with him IMO.
O'Quinn is signed for 4 years, he is part of our future. Seraphin is on a 1 yr deal, we need to know what we have there and he needs consistent minutes to build his confidence. If he can get consistent with that sweet looking hook shot and keep playing solid D he could be a big part of the solution to close out games.

Interesting POV. True, O'Quinn is around for a long time.
Seraphin could even be interesting trade fodder to a contender.
These last couple of points are really solid. Seraphin can help us out a lot with his post play and passing skills, there's no doubt in my mind about that. We've already seen, earlier this season, what O'Q can do. If anything, the fact that Seraphin's contract is only for 1 year should be giving him plenty of incentive to give it everything he's got. And it's not like either of their contracts are taking up a whole lot of cap space. We can afford to be a little patient with O'Q. Let's give Seraphin an opportunity to really earn something long-term.
The bottom line is we have six players via for minutes at the 4 and 5, and somebody is going to get left out. NOw that KP is taking on the role as starting PF and backup Center, O'Quinn is only going to get some many minutes. Someone will get hurt eventually, and the minutes will open up.
