That dude was on the floor for more than 30 minutes, and only took 4 shots. He had just three assists and did not do that good of a job on defense. He usually shoots a pretty high percentage; so I wonder why he is reluctant to shoot the ball. The Heat were daring him to shoot by doubling Carmelo, but he was gun-shy. We could have used his offense tonight
Yeah Jose does that a lot. He has to realize that the team needs him to be aggressive. It's not really his nature tho. That's why Phil is gonna have to bring in another guard that is more aggressive at scoring the ball. Jose is more of an old school facilitator. The Triangle needs scoring guards who can also pass. A pure PG that isn't looking to shoot is not really maximizing the role.
We really need Jerian to get his game in gear. I know it's a lot for him to deal with but the sooner he realizes that he has to just PLAY HIS GAME the better. He's not being aggressive and fearless like he was in college. The refs won't respect you if you play sheepish and hesitant.

By midseason Jeryan will get it. We desperately need a Russel Westbrook in the backcourt
We need either a Westchester call up (Trice?) or to pull off a minor deal to get a Point Guard that'll actually challenge Jerian in practice, as Jose isn't that guy.
Need a true point guard that can penetrate to score, not just to probe then just dribble back out like Jose does. Half the time Jose drives into the lane, then just pulls back out, so the defense doesn't really have to defend. Need someone that can bend the opposition's defense, for the drive and kick. Jerian, when going well, does that and the PnR and Pick and Pop. Right now Jerian is looking and playing like a rookie...inconsistent play as expected.
Overall, Jose has been hitting shots the last 8 games or so, besides tonight. Hopefully tonight was just an anomaly and Jose goes back to hitting shots, so Fish and Jackson aren't forced into altering the roster drastically

I simply don't understand why he must be told to shoot the ball. Fisher often say that he needs for Jose to shoot more. Four shots per game is simply not sufficient for a dude who gives up so many points to the opposing PG.
Go to dleague.com and look at video of Toure Murry. He would be a nice addition due to his aggressive defense, ability to penetrate, and shooting. Plus he's big.

I remember when we brought him to the team a couple of years ago. The kid can play. What I remember was a kid that was good on defense and driving, but who did not have much offense or many PG skills. If he is better in those areas, he might be someone to look at. However, I think the team will stick with Grant and just wait on his development. The goal this year was not to contend for a title. It was to develop players and become a legitimate playoff team. The team is not going to stray from that goal and rush things just to try and add a few more wins.
I like Toure a lot. I called for Phil to go and get this kid in one of my previous threads. He is big and can defend. But I don't see that happening because we already have too many guards. I pray that Phil can find a trade for Jose; because until that happens, we will forever be hurting in the backcourt. For now, I don't care if he is a terrible defender, as long as, he is taking and making shots; which he is often reluctant to do
