Knicks · Why is LG terrible? Langston thread (page 1)

Langston has shot 1-42 the past seven games. That's worse than kobe bryant! what's going on? did his cat run away?
GustavBahler @ 12/3/2015 3:18 AM
Was wondering if Galloway was going to fall to earth. Had my doubts but Galloway kept playing well. Had no idea it was that bad over the last seven games. Bad yes, but not 1-42 bad. Thought we needed another shooter before Galloway's slump.

At least Grant is starting to come on strong and can play the 2 if Galloway keeps slumping. Hope he can pull it together, it was a great run for a while.

Bonn1997 @ 12/3/2015 6:30 AM
Yeah that's shocking. His 3 point shooting is returning to normal and he's always been bad at scoring from 2 point range. Even during the fast start this year, he was only hitting about 39 or 40% of his 2 point shots. Now he's at 35.8% from 2 (not 3 but 2!) point range. It will be interesting to see where his #s end up by the end of the season.
Nalod @ 12/3/2015 6:56 AM
Good thing we didn't give him the starting job over "Hose-A".

Seems Grant is working his way back slowly.

I guess anyone we bring in would be better than Galloway? I mean those mystical d-league unicorn guys we bring up, those not drafted or don't make other rosters are better than what we got, right?

Maybe we need to know if the guy is hurt? got problems with his "gal"?

BRIGGS @ 12/3/2015 7:06 AM
What a shock this has been. A guy who was playing like a really solid NBA 6th man--in line for a multi million raise is now playing like a guy who isnt an NBA caliber player for just as long?

His consistency has to take a step 4ward--its hard to rely on players who take significant swings like this-you need that modicum of consistency

Yeah but if you can't hit 2 point shots (which has been the case his NBA career) and don't get to the line much, how are you going to be consistent?

YOu better shoot 42%+ from 3 to start. Also you need to make a concerted effort to find a 2 point game. Hes pulling the string on his J that is for sure.

Time to give JIMMER a chance

and cut galloways minutes? Is there cause for this? Does he need rest? does he play thru it?
Or do we just throw out a bunch of suggestions thinking "Change" is the same as "improvement"?

From what I can see, everyone on this team is struggling to score the ball. The spacing is so bad, guys are forced to shoot contested jumpers. Galloway is struggling shooting the ball, but he is doing other things to stay relevant

ChuckBuck @ 12/3/2015 10:10 AM
Langston just hasn't been hitting his shots, but he hasn't been playing terrible. Still scrappy and still tries to defend well and dish for others.

Hose-A still can't guard a nail hammered onto a wooden board. "Nailed it!"

Vmart @ 12/3/2015 10:29 AM
He is taking bad shots. LG needs to get back to mid range game. He has fallen love with the three and he isn't going to the basket hard.
crzymdups @ 12/3/2015 10:37 AM
The spacing on the second unit is bad. If they aren't getting out and running, their half court game is terrible.

I like that Fisher is mixing up the units more and playing some starters with the reserves more often and vice versa.

I think Galloway will come out of it. Guys go in slumps in this league. He isn't the guy who was going 5-5 from 3pt range to start the season and he's not the guy who has been going 0-5 from 3pt lately. He'll settle down somewhere in between.

With Grant getting his confidence back and maybe DWill, too, I think that'll only help Galloway.

back to mid-range? He hits only about 25% of his mid-range shots.

We have to do something! Anything!

Yeah, let's do anything!

JIMMY SAYS JIMMY DOESN'T DO 1-42!

I'd bump Jimmer to the 15 man roster the nanosecond Hose-A falls victim to old man's disease. It's bound to happen.

You don't get out of a slump shooting threes it's starts by getting to the basket. All in all LG is a back up third stringer. His defense is above average and that is his calling card. I think he will break out of his slump soon.

OK - I didn't realize you meant getting to the basket. I thought you meant shooting mid-range shots.

It was a great run for a while?? He was good for like 5 games and then he fell off badly and still is. He's obviously lost all confidence in his shot and the only thing that will bring his confidence back is having 2/3 good shooting games in a row.

Galloway had been playing well since preseason, briefly led the league in 3pt shooting over Curry, so yes I would say he was having a great run for a while.
