I believe this kid will soon be a FA. Given that he wants to be a starter, does he fit in the triangle? He is a tall guard that can defend, and he sees the court nicely.
He's not THAT tall. He's 6'2. Calderon is 6'3.
Grant is our future. He'll be our starter before too long and a good one! Calderon isn't a bad backup. Or Jeremy Lin. Some one like that or Trice or even Jimmer.

Calderon can no longer play the PG position. It is about time that folks realize that. He it too slow and never could defend. His best position is as a backup SG

Seems to be doing just fine to me and to D.Fisher and P.Jackson and last i checked they both know just a little bit about basketball........just sayin.
Doesnt seem to fit Phil's pg mold. He's listed at 6'1" so he's problably 6 ft or shorter. He can drive and create for others which is lacking but he'll have his turnovers and is just an average perimeter shooter. Defensively? He's small and thin, prone to getting abused by bigger pts and his quickness somehow doesnt translate on that end just like Larkin

Not true, either watch the games or open your eyes. He gets the ball to the right spot on offense, doesn't turn it over much and hits open jumpers, including from three. He is by far the best orchestrator in the offense. Gallo, for example, is useless in this regard. His defense is not great, but he is pesky and competes. He has gotten timely big steals and the occasional key stop. He has been a plus for the Knicks the last bunch of games.

Gotta Co sign. Calderón has been playing great basketball. His team defense has been great. Even Breen pointed out that Calderón is way more vocal this year.
I think guys want a player they can worship. They want Westbrook and if you aren't on that level than you are a bum. Calderón was on the shit last all last season and we all wanted him gone but after watching him this year, I'm good with what he's been able to do. He's playing good basketball right now
I do not think Dennis is a good match for our offence at all. His shot is erratic at best and he is a purely penetrate and create guy.
The only positive thing I could see for him in the triangle is some easy layups after the give and go action with the center which he would be good in.
Hes a nice finisher and a very quick cutter!
Concerning his height... he plays longer than 6-1 since he has really long arms and is quick. He can be a pesky defender at times...
At times here is the key word since the main reason why I dont want him on the Knicks is that I think his character is not the best... he is very cocky and not in a good confident way. He does have some entourage around him that I just dont think is good for the young man.
Despite him being the "next" hope for German basketball he is perceived very (some say too) critical here in Germany due to these facts.
Especially "old school" guys like me just have a problem with his behaviour...
Actually since Lin was mentioned in this thread above... to me he is EXACTLY the same player when it comes to... well almost every aspect.
why would we want this guy? Eye test candy guy?
