Knicks · What we need to get better (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 12/7/2015 4:40 PM
1. A smaller quicker post player who can actually post up and score. Long arms great defender great energy good passer rebounder. I DO NOT think Willy H is that guy.

2 Assuming we resign Affalo we need 2-3 More guards and forwards who are more athletic and more consistent

Hes not on draft sites but I really like this guy-- I think hes the interior version of Dray Green.

So a really good scorer and defender and passer and rebounder with great energy.

Why didn't the Knicks think of that??

clyderules @ 12/7/2015 4:56 PM
Batum would be a nice start. Willy for next year. Plus bring in Erick Green and maybe one more young talented dleaguer who we can develop. Some of them are way more talented than what's presently on our roster. We have way too many role players and not enough young talent.

Is that true? Then why did we spend 18mm on slow 7 footers?

I'm asking you a genuine question. You really, intentionally posted a topic suggesting the Knicks need a player who is a good scorer, defender, passer, and rebounder?

crzymdups @ 12/7/2015 6:07 PM
I think we need a more consistent option at PG - someone who is quicker and can break down defenses and shoot well. And defend.

We need a few bodies at the 2/3 who can shoot and defend. I really like Nic Batum for one of those spots.

TheGame @ 12/7/2015 6:30 PM
All we need is for KP, Grant, and Galloway to continue to improve as players. We also need another guard/small forward who can create his own shot. Plus, we need melo to pass even more than he has this season and stop all of the contested jumpers. Melo needs to postup more.

Umm yes--for the money we spent on the pivot--we did not get that. Im not a believer in guys with no post game Lopez has almost no post game and I have no clue what were doing with Oquinn but we spent 18mm on them combined.

In the future I think we need to make sure the player at the price range is more skilled faster and more athletic than what we bought.

Grant and Galloway are guys that still need a lot of seasoning.

Two ways to look at this.

We couldve gone more athletic in the draft but even worse I think we missed on Bobby Portis who couldve been our C for 15 years.

I hope the Knicks don't regret not grabbing Christmas. Hernangomez seems like a good prospect but he also has said it was his dream to play for Real Madrid.

This description sounds like N'dour, I wonder what kind of guy out he has? The downside is that he probably won't get that many minutes. He'll be on the bench hanging out with Willy G.

We hit on Porzingis--albeit I think by the skin of our teeth because I dont think that is what they wanted to do. Other than that we have a real nice acquisition in Affalo--if he stays healthy hes a really good player capable of 20 every night at good%

blkexec @ 12/7/2015 11:07 PM
We need Fisher to coach this team to our strengths....and stop trying to fit a circle into a triangle!

Rolo, Seraphin, Grant, Melo, Early, Williams don't fit the system. That's half of the team! Calderon, Amundson and Sasha are too old and slow. That's 3/4 of the team! That doesn't leave a lot of good options except to make trades or change the system.
franco12 @ 12/8/2015 8:21 AM
we need Melo to shoot better than 40%.

Dude all most any payer in this league fits this system, (It's fundamental basketball played in a triangular motion)it just takes a lot of time to learn and the knicks don't have the practice time or enough triangle experience players to help the transition, they don't have phil jackson or tex winters on the sideline either.
