Papabear Says
KP was a 4th round pick not a first. When the press goes in the locker room KP has the floor. Teams has not weighed in on him yet like Melo. If Melo leaves Phil will be paying for 2nd string players. Players in this league really like Melo and it seems when players leave NY thier game gets better. We better be careful what you wish for. KP can't win a championship by himself. All of the players must buy in on themselves. Our only chance to get better is for Melo to get better and the players to play better but if the press continue to play this Linsanity game it will piss off some of the players and not only Melo remember he is an alpha dog. We also have some other proud players who look for attention. Also think about this ! how much longer do you think Phil will stay when he realize he has no chance of competing. Weather you like it or not Melo is the key.

Yep. Melo is a key to the door of hell.
And Knicks open it and leave in it.
To me he can go kick rocks.
We always were better without his selfish a..sss and we will be back again when he and his hero-ball will be in the past.
This has to be the funniest/absurd thread I have ever seen on here
Wouldn't be surprised if Chris Paul wants to come as a free agent if LA continues to struggle in the playoffs and he decides to join all of his buddies (Melo, LeBron, and Wade) on the east coast. A 22 year old KP, a still effective Melo, and CP3 would be a nice path to the ECF at a minimum, a place CP3 has never been.
for the love of god can we please lock this thread up? jesus mary and joseph
when a young unproven player gets lavish media attention it can most certainly cause chemistry issues, especially in team sports like football/hockey/bb where if your teammates dont perform your performance will suffer as well. Baseball is a little different because each play is an individual one.
However what is clear is hindsight is that Linsanity, fun as it was was not sustainable, and please.. the Heat killed Linsanity, not Melo, but thats ancient history.
What makes KP different is he's a team guy. He's not looking for attention, and he always talks team first. The first thing out of his mouth is how Melo has been like a big brother, and other guys on the team have shown him the way taken pressure off him. Also its very clear that KP has earned Melo's respect and that is evident on the court where they play a pretty good (and getting better) 2 man game.
So I have to disagree papabear... I understand the potential for chemistry issues because of the public fanfare but I think KP, Melo and the Knicks are doing it right.
TRADE HIS LATVIAN AZZ OUTTA HERE!

Now seriously...I can't believe OP even dared compared the flash in the pan that was Linsanity to a once in a lifetime talent...Pretty disgraceful and disrespectful to KP to say the least.

I agree: It's nowhere near the most absurd thread. FW is the king of that. Still, it's a pretty bad one.
I don't think he's comparing linsanity to KP in a basketball skill sense, but more so in regards to the media attention that KP now gets.
Word on the street is that KP has been working on his crossover dribble and that while the Knicks are on the road Fisher plans on introducing KP6 as the team's Point-PF... operating at the top of the key with Anthony setting picks for him.
Can't wait!
