The thing about the Knicks Triangle at this stage is that ALL of the players (except Vujacic) are doing things that are NOT second-nature to them.
That's okay when it works . . . but when it stops working, they lose confidence and either freeze up or revert to what they're used to.
It's sort of ugly to watch, sure. But imagine what it must be like on the floor . . . if the players are not really convinced that the Triangle can EVER work.
How old is Carmelo -- 31 (?) He's been playing BASKETBALL for 20 years. He THINKS that's what the Knicks are still about now. But he's wrong. It's the TRIANGLE . . .

Derrick Rose? You really think he would be a good idea?

Mainly they went with him at 5, Melo at 4 and all of a sudden they got better play on BOTH ends.
Closed the half strong with that lineup. The coaches have to realize that RLO can only be used as a token starter (first 7 min max of each half) and the rest of the time he's an insurance for Porzingis at the 5 spot in the case on FT or injury.
Hope we see more of that in the 2nd half. We also need our guards to be FAR more aggressive in attacking the D and not just being Traffic Cones out there. Too much RoLo handling the ball and not enough of the guards calling for A screen and going with a 2 man.
We need to get more PNR with Grant and KP.
Grant cannot play with KP right now as primary options. Way too many mistakes.
Grant right now is playing terrible.
Had some decent games before the last one.
His confidence is shot right now.
His biggest concern on the floor right now is to not make a mistake...which is not good.

It is because we are not playing him to what he is most comfortable with. He had a very fluid thing going with Porzingis dating back to summer league and I would bet anything that it would still work right now. Porzingis will get a lot of efficient shots in PNR and Grant can be in his comfort zone because that is where is he is most effective.
EXACTLY!!!

We desperately need a PG
Lopez has to play some help d on that play
Casspi only going to his right...KP has to overplay.
No adjustment by our coach; oh, he does not know how to do so
We're still in this game.

+100
TO Melo. Just bad. Is he washed up or rusty?

you beat me!
Good half time adjustment. Put KP at 5 and Lopez on the bench so that KP gets fed at the post and Melo on the back post. Also keeps KP from having to guard Caspi off dribble.
Its apparent that we need to start running the plays of the triangle that fit the skill set of the triangle.
Fish with a good T. We need more of that.
Melo just got hammered on offense and the refs called it out of bounds on the Knicks. Then Melo gets called for a touch foul on the other end.
At least Fisher got a technical.
Melo passing his tail off
