Wasn't expecting those numbers at all, and he's not exactly my favorite player.
Look away from this picture if you don't want to feel depressed/angry:
Why are so many hoodwinked by Anthony that they believe he's a good player? If you even dare to say otherwise you get reported to the moderators. The facts speak for themselves.
wow those are horrible stats!
here comes the OJ defense ... in 3, 2, 1

Seriously man? This type of dumbass posting is gonna get called out. I got no problem disliking Melo, in fact, I pretty much hate him as a player myself. You feel the need to bring it up in every thread and ruin the conversation of every other topic about the Knicks and I'll call you out on it and ask you to leave. Andrew and I are here to help the Knicks like-minded community enjoy a place to speak about the Knicks, vent about the team and its players, and enjoy the nuances, growth and a hopeful winning trend. Heartbreak, heartache, tears in the eyes and joy in the sports part of the heart.
You are not adding anything to this community and have made it worse with this type of post and others like it. If anyone else feels like posting crap like this, please find another place to enjoy conversation, I'm done with mod'ing this type of thing, I got better things to do.

Just wanna say thanks for like 10 years of my life following the Knicks on this site. No other place I wanna be for my Knicks fix.

My 7 year old always gives me a hug when I yell at my other kids
Thank you for letting the facts speak for themselves without the use of poetic license.
I would chalk up to the following reasons for his last second bricks in no particular order.
1) Injuries, especially his shoulder problems. As someone who has had them non stop for the last 4 years I can relate.
2) Mike Woodson. It was his infinitely complex late game strategy aka dump the ball to Melo with no screens or misdirections, while double and triple teamed, which put a dent in Melo's numbers as well.
3) Melo. He did yell at Woodson to actually coach during one game, but he should have diplomatically approached Woodson and told him that he doesnt mind being the go to guy, thats what he's paid for, but Woodson and his assistants need to come up with something better than Melo as sitting duck. He was basically letting Melo do what he wanted, so I doubt it would have been a problem.
Ive already gone into this season, as far as those other numbers, they wouldn't matter if Melo's record in the last ten seconds were better and resulted in wins.
Melo as of now is the worst player getting heavy minutes. This was Phil's big mistake. I'm sure he resigned Melo at Dolan's request. Melo just doesn't fit this system and he hasn't been good for a while now. I always wanted Melo to become a 50% shooter because a 50% shooter eventually becomes a 45% shooter over time. A 45% shooter becomes a 40% shooter and now Melo is a 40% shooter.
How far back do the stats go? Anything to indicate a change in recent years?
Do we have other players to compare him to?
Are turnovers or passes considered?
To be honest- these stats are somewhat useless without looking at where he stands with other players.
Not going to lie- I hate the stand & dribble 30+ feet away at top of the key until 5.3 seconds then go 1/1 put up 20ft contested jumper strategy.
I'd rather get him the ball somewhere near the elbow...maybe set some picks for him, and give him some pass-out options.
Did not have the time to be this deliberate last game, but its been obvious that Anthony has not fared well during the countdown situations at the end of quarters/the half/final seconds of game, and this is being amplified by his compromised physical condition.
