So says the man on the night the underachieving Bucks knock off the previously undefeated Warriors.

We salute you Captain Obvious.

WaltLongmire @ 12/12/2015 11:21 PM
Briggs...love you a lot, but you will always overreact to a great individual effort as if it is the norm for a guy.

Monroe is at 16/10- his usual numbers...Bucks are still 10-15- they don't accumulate GS's victories by beating them.

He had a good game tonight...when he can average what he gave you tonight, get back to us.

He did not want to come here...not much more to say about it.

nyk4ever @ 12/13/2015 12:31 AM
gotta love how Briggs always cherry picks his bumps. pathetic, really...especially in this case when he's not right.

Monroe is the better player out of the two. Offensively and when it comes to rebounding Temne ball. Monroe is also the better passer out of the two
Chandler @ 12/13/2015 1:14 AM
Bucks defense has been going backwards since he joined the team

Personally I think he has game but it's also clear he didn't want the Knicks. It wasn't a money thing.

Hope the Knicks use that as motivation whenever they play them

At this point who cares? It's done and we have to figure out our team with the guys we've got. I still like our team better when we finally get things sorted out with the lineups and develop KP and Jerian. We still have tons of upside and an open roster spot. That's what we need to be concerned with. Monroe is water under the bridge.

You didn't even want Monroe- you were having a nervous breakdown over the prospect of us signing him. Then you did your usual flip flop, then had a nervous breakdown because we didn't sign him. he's had no positive impact on the under achieving Bucks all season, but because they just beat the Warriors you suddenly have another nervous breakdown.

It's easy to criticise moves but just remember you wanted us to trade down in the draft, so likely we would have ended up with Justin DNP Anderson and Kaminsky rather than KP, so try some humility.

Bonn1997 @ 12/13/2015 6:43 AM
Do you think Monroe would look bad in a system where he was asked to do things he was bad at? Imagine a system where he was told to shoot nothing but 3 point shots all game? He'd probably only make like 5% of his FGs!
franco12 @ 12/13/2015 7:08 AM
I don't think anyone ever said Robin Lopez is better than Monroe.

Maybe folks maintained that Lopez was a better fit in terms of budget & what the players bring to the table.

It turns out everyone was wrong because we would have been better off just with KOQ & Kevin Seraphin & using that extra money on Shved & Jeremy Lin. Then we could easily have dumped Calderon and brought Grant along more slowly.

There's no flip flop. I didn't want Lopez and I wanted the Knicks to draft kp. I wasn't high on Monroe but felt he was the best of what it seemed like we would be able to ge

I thought he wanted Cauly-Stein?

Lopez is much better on D.
Monroe is much better on O.

Considering the Knicks biggest weakness was D last year, and they've already won like 11 games and are playing better basketball than a more talented Bucks team, it shows that Lopez was a good investment for D purposes. There's no way the Knicks are 11-14 with Monroe, because despite his better O, he's a liability on D in that he can't defend perimeter bigs nor can he anchor inside. Lopez anchors inside and gives you a presence. Our D (which is arguably) the most improved D in the league is in large part due to a scheme designed around Lopez or Porzingis defending inside with their shotblocking/length.

The real issue longterm is Lopez/Porzingis/Melo. That trio is too slow to start or play big minutes every night. Fisher must realize he has to limit the minutes of those 3 together.

Last nite KOQ/Lopez looked good. That was where the money went.
Shved got the biggest euro contract ever. Was Lin even considered by our Triangle Masters?

Monroe is a very polished offensive player. Are we to automatically assume we'd be better with him after 25 games? What about in two years?
On a night Monroe had a good game and helped stop the second longest streak in the history of the NBA, no doubt a good moment in what has been a slow start to the Bucks are we to have buyers remorse?

Is Monroe one of those guys that looks better on paper than on the court? Is RoPez the opposite? Are we the kind of fans that is impressionable to make snap judgements based on what is in front of us? NBA Gm's and coach's can't do it, but fans can.

Would have to agree with intention of post. In spite of the Bucks record. Lopez was a overpriced knee jerk reaction to coming out empty with Monroe. Although, I believe he would have chosen the Bucks regardless if Knicks would have offered an equal package. Still believe the Lopez money should have been spent on a stronger bench. Specially a couple of players from last year that played well and were let go due to cap room. Hindsight.....

Knee jerk response? I doubt that. Plan "B" maybe. For the money Phil got Ropez, a 27 year old and KOQ still young at 25 years old.

Can we really evaluate this after 25 games and call it? 11-14 is not terrible given we are playing two rookies and have 9 new players with two vets coming off big layoffs due to injury.

Greg Moneroe would have been a great PF, or in tandem with a RoPez type center.

Phil likes big players. KOQ looked like he ran last nite!

Actually finished with an ahead of the field dunk. Was he trying to impress a hot woman sitting on courtside, or something? Was he basket hanging?

Agreed.

And I'd also question the use of "overpriced" and I don't know how you could justify using Rolo money on a stronger bench. Knicks needed starting players, especially at either C or PF considering the draft of KP. You don't like Rolo, then who else?

Rolo may not be a starer on a championship team - Phil's first choices were DJordan and Aldridge - but IMHO he fits next to KP for now and plays D first (much more important than the better qualities of the likes of Monroe) and is on a manageable contract for the next 3 years, very tradable for a better piece.

If DeAndre was Phil's first choice, no reason Phil can't roll the dice again on the likes of Drummond; it's a fat chance scenario but this is what we need to expect of Phil and his Juice Card. And if I had to pick between DeAndre and Drummond, I'd go Andre all day.
