Knicks · 12/15/2015 Trade Mania starts!!! (page 1)

All the rumors to fuel our little minds and keep them busy for a while.

"Teams interested in Boogie"
"Dwight is real unhappy in Houstan"

How does Miami get Dwight and Melo without giving up DWade and Bosh?
Im just making that up.

Howard is such a loser. Wade will never allow him on his team.
Knixkik @ 12/15/2015 3:46 PM
For as bad as Sheridan is with his basketball knowledge, i will say he knows people. I remember him saying weeks before LeBron went back to Cleveland how it was a done-deal and he stood by it 100% through every rumor and denial. I definitely believe him when it comes to rumors in which he offers little to no opinion.

From another thread - I wonder if Chicago would consider Robin Lopez for Joakim Noah...?

Noah is miserable in Chicago, coming off the bench. As Briggs has pointed out, Lopez may be more suited to coming off the bench.

Something is up chemistry-wise in Chicago. Noah being unhappy may be part of their problem...

Is Noah just aging? He's 30 now. Or is something weird up in Chicago?

he doesnt have the jumper but boy he can pass. With guys like KOQ and Seraphin we should be able to keep Noah's minutes managable.
crzymdups @ 12/15/2015 4:06 PM
I would also try to target Greivis Vasquez. Not sure if the Bucks would be willing to talk trade, or if we have anything they want... but I would love to get that guy. He's UFA in the summer. Bucks are struggling, Vasquez is having a down season there. I wonder if he could be had on the trade market.

Either way I would pursue Noah and Vasquez if I'm the Knicks, whether this trade deadline or in FA next summer.

(We all love Batum, but he's recently been making noise that he will stay in Charlotte for the max.)

Yeah, Noah passing from the high post... I feel like he could be like Vlade Divac from there. Chicago has ocassionally used him in that role when Rose was out, but doesn't seem to anymore. I think his passing would be a huge boon to the offense. Not sure if his defense is still all world level like it used to be, but if you can limit his minutes and keep him fresh, it could be a very good fit...

Knicks1969 @ 12/15/2015 4:24 PM
Noah is one player who could improve the Knicks immediately.
Nalod @ 12/15/2015 5:27 PM
All things true.

He passes nice from the high post. This is where KP is.
Yeah, he sort of don't have a jumper, but that is the sorta thing PHil likes In his bigs. Have to have some short range game.
He rebound is nice. He sort breaks down come playoff time. He is only 30 and has been an athletic freaky kind of player. High energy good motor kind of guy and given his knees and health, I'd say lets take a pass on him. I don't want to pay him long term.
I don't know what the market will be for him but I'd say he can take us the the next level, but that is really a low payoff seed.
I'd pass.

EnySpree @ 12/15/2015 5:34 PM
Getting Noah is zero risk. The dude loves ny. He'd bring it here and be appreciated.

Chicago problems start with getting rid of Thibodau. Then they started the European guy with the beard over Taj Gibson, plus they benched Noah for Gasol. They killed their own foundation over there. Piss poor management.

I'd love to get Taj or Noah

Noah was a fav, hard working defensive anchor. Loved his intensity but the question the past few years is if he is healthy. Foot then knee issues. TT loved him, dont know if Hoiberg feels the same since D's can play off , maybe Gasol renders him less important in their scheme. Thirty should not be the end if he is healthy, Id consider that trade assuming he isnt blazin heavily

CrushAlot @ 12/15/2015 5:57 PM
I can't imagine Miami trading Winslow and Whiteside for Howard. That has to be a houston based rumor.

I cant either

I hate Howard but I think he would be great here. Houston needs to build around Harden. Howard is being waisted. They want a big to just be big and catch the lobs and drop offs Harden throws.

Knicks always have Robin in the past and he's asked to score which he can't consistently. Howard could.

I agree with this on all counts. Howard is a unlikeable diva, has had some back issues and past his prime but he would greatly improve this team on the court in the short term and wouldnt sabotage any long term plans as his deal ends in 16-15. Offer Lopez, Williams, Calderon for him and whatever garbage Houston wants to dump.

GoNyGoNyGo @ 12/16/2015 7:19 AM
LOpez would be a good fit for Houston. He would give Harden so many great screens and would just have to rebound and defend.

THat being said, I NEVER want to see Howard in a KNicks uniform. He is copped out of every situation he has been in. He is the definition of a LOSER.

Pat Riley would have to eat a copy of "The Winner Within" if he took DH on his team. And he'd have to eat it WITHOUT any ketchup.

Howard on the Knicks would be a deal-breaker for me. I'd become a full time Wizzy fan.

Im not saying it gets you a title for sure, but 18-10 per game with Bosh, Deng and Wade is no joke and could give Cavs a run for the East. Injuries happen and as we know sometimes a path opens like it did for the Warriors last year so its not a crazy idea. I think for salary purpose and I don't have the details but obviously Dragic has to go. Rockets core return is Dragic and Whiteside. If Dwight is disgruntled that's not a bad take.

Does a trio of Melo-KP-Dwight- enough? Whats our back court look like? Deplete our bench and Dwight gets a back spasms we don't even make the playoffs.
We not ready for a deal like that. Dwight is not coming onto a team with an in place culture yet and he is not the kind of guy we want forging a culture.

Nalod says no to Dwight. No to Rondo (Free agency) and no to Noah.

Change is not always an improvement! Patience. Goal this year is finish good enough so we don't kill ourselves come draft time.

franco12 @ 12/16/2015 9:47 AM
Howard doesn't fit here - not unless he has a mid range game I don't know about.

100% against the idea of even trading for him- even if its garbage we give up.

He is 30 years old, and on the wrong side of the hill.

Nalod @ 12/16/2015 9:57 AM
HOward makes over 22m this year, 23m next. Rockets should dump him if they can. Reality is they made a nice run last year and are coming back to .500 so its not a lost cause. If this was his last year any contender would make every effort as a healthy Dwight for a short run, and one engaged could make a big difference.

The outlook for salary cap is it goes up, but might not sustain.
