Lopez and Aflalo salary matches up. While Dwight short term is an upgrade, we lose too much a lot and that's a lot of scratch to pay one guy with a bad back. How good are we with our bench? Does Rockets even want that? Give them Jose? Two things, we don't have a better guard on the team, Jimmer is not prime time and if you bring in Dwight you are raising the expectation bar, otherwise why do it?
If you can't be top 4 in conference, its not worth the short term. In fact, one might say we should cash in Melo for picks/yoot/potential.
No way would I trade for Dwight. Have people watched the Rockets? He's got almost nothing left in the tank. His game was built on athleticism and little else.

KP as a stretch 4 with Howard in the low block? That would be interesting. The dude is a much better passer then he is given credit. Didn't he March his team to the NBA finals? That was seven years ago when he went to the Finals. And he was a totally different player back then. Have you seen him play lately? Not the same player at all. Not remotely.
