Melo playing defense?
Meh, he still needs to do other things.
How do you get the link to open so easily? What did you do to cut and pace it? It never works for me; please advise

As someone who's never been sold on Anthony, I must say I'm enjoying how he's playing much more this season than ever before, and that despite his shooting woes.
Im still not sold .. we are 3-7 in our last 10 games, bc we have Melo at the 4 spot.
What part of the Rondo dunk did the writer (CHRIS HERRING) miss?
Another silly article paid for by Dolan

A lot went into the Knicks struggles, but really how Melo is playing D is a great sign. Eventually Melo always gets his offense going and if he can maintain this level of D that will mean a lot of really good things going forward.
Not to mention that it looks like Fish is getting a better handle on how he can set his rotation to get the team to play faster. I think there are some good days ahead for this team.

I don't see Melo doing a 360 change to finally become a 2 way player at age 31, and still hold down 40 minute of playing time to full his scoring stat.
Melo had a clear pass to a wide-open KP under the basket to tie the Kings game to go into OT. The next day Melo wanted to keep the subject off of why he didnt pass the ball to KP? So Melo change the subject to the Knicks speeding up the pace of the game. We all recall when coach Dantoni kept begging ISO-Melo to participate in the SSOL alongside of "Lin-Sanity", to the point of Dantoni quitiing

I thought the Dolans owned Newsday. I think the writer went with stats/data and didn't write the article based on one play.

Dolan does not own cable vision nor Newsday anymore. They sold in October. They own MSG properties and AMC. They out of the distribution business. Might have been very smart to sell as price per household might be dropping.

I didn't realize Newsday was part of the sale. I know they don't own the WSJ.

WSJ is owned by Rupert Murdoch, I think. Clearly, Dolan called up his fellow billionaire evil media manipulator and asked for a favor
Think Melo has always gotten a bad rap as a defender. Tendency to assume offensive players are weak on D unless labeled early as a defender. He isnt MJ , Lebron or Kobe on D but think he has tried to compete for the most part on that end and that he has been no worst than average defender over his career. Having said that, he has likely slipped on that end despite stats and increased focus simply because he is getting older and has mileage. Hayward ran him ragged. D stats many times are also affected by team D and KP and to a lesser degree Lopez have assisted many
The knicks has a whole, have been a better defensive team, but there offense suffers from it.

I pray that you are correct. Nothing would give me greater joy but to watch Fisher succeed as a coach; but I am doubtful
One could be a grumpy old man and say something like:
Not a good sign when it's hailed as monumental progress that your alleged franchise 'Superstar' has started giving a shit on D. Notice that the article didn't say that he had learned a new technique from Fisher that past coaches failed to teach him. The progress is mainly in effort and, yes in health but he was healthy for most of his career.
Or you can be an optimist and say:
In my book true superstars give effort on both ends. Assuming your scoring returns to form...welcome to the club, Melo.

+1
But it is so much more brilliant to point out one play and ignore statistics.
Like how Melo not passing is going to be based on one play where he did not fire the ball to the 0-6 KP under the basket with 2.1 seconds to go.
