Love it! SAS really has to bite his lip and eat major crow right now.
Now only if he can learn not to say "Prozinjus".
StarksEwing1@ 12/17/2015 4:38 PM
In fairness to Stephen A he NEVER said KP was gonna be a bust. he said it would take 3-5 years for him to start showing his high upside so he was obviously dead wrong about that. I think that was the only reason he said it was a bad pick

AGREEE....I have saying the same thing since start of the season. The mistake SAS made is that he was to quick to destroy Phil after the draft. He should have waited to see how he addressed the roster during free Agency and then reacted. If one blames him for that, it would be fair criticism

He isn't even the one who said it would take 3-5 yrs. He didn't know anything about KP and was told by most experts that it would take that long. So his frustration came from that. He also felt Phil making 12 mil per should be doing more as a regular no name Prez could do what he has done according to SAS in terms of draft and FA pieces. But Phil making 12mil don't really matter in the grand scheme of things. So its not really relevant to use fans.

I hate SAS with a passion. The guy is garbage and not a true fan of New York Sports like he acts like he is. He'll turn on a team in a second. He's a loud mouth and a fake. Enough said.

The dude is a die hard fan. You may not like his boisterous ways, but he is a passionate fan. I love the dude

Posting this video is like serving steak to a bunch of lions.
But it's interesting to see how he gradually changed over a short time....
He represents all of the KP haters since the day he was drafted.

The dude was never a KP hater. Some of you SAS haters just love to fabricate stories. He is more of a Dolan hater if anything
EnySpree@ 12/17/2015 5:44 PM
Whatever Stephen A Smith has to say is irrelevant. He is the epitome of the nyc basketball fan. Doom and gloom. Loud mouth that uses the misery of the Knicks franchise to make it seem like he knows what he is talking about. Dude is garbage and needs to be ignored

I don't understand how his footage wasn't convincing enough coming in. I was super convinc he was going to have a major impact after the 2nd SL, and like i said in another thread, giving him the starting spot over quinn, and dwill without even hesitating was the biggest tell tell sign
yellowboy90@ 12/17/2015 6:33 PM
You tend to be considered a hater when you talk about you would be happy if Phil drafted someone the fans(he) has seen but then spout off about how Mudiay was available and is a star in the making. The same Mudiay who played overseas.
CrushAlot@ 12/17/2015 6:50 PM
Hoodwinked, bamboozled...The guy went off on Phil and the pick. Allegedly called in from his vacation because he was so upset.
crzymdups@ 12/17/2015 6:51 PM
One thing: I think the Phil Jackson comment that Stephen A latched on to comparing Porzingis to Shawn Bradley was actually one of those Zen mind tricks - meant for KP to hear and meant to motivate him to go out and prove he wasn't Shawn Bradley. Just a thought.
Also Stephen A is just like most Knicks fans - he's not a reporter, he responds to stuff emotionally. I dislike it, but I recognize I do it myself sometimes.

he's a rabble rouser and a propagandist.
not a fan though it is entertaining. his take on marbury a few years back is hilarious.

im not a big fan of SAS but i have to defend him here. none of us saw KP play overseas and we were told that he would be a 3yr project. i was not happy with the pick simply cuz of my ignorance of never seeing him play (and i thought mudiay could help NOW). but boy am i pleasantly surprised - and YES this offense should be turned over to KP with melo playing the sidekick role

KP was a potential lottery pick as early as 2014 and was in on the top 4-5 draft boards for 2015 just as soon as they started publishing draft boards.
His Euroleague play was on record.
There was never any reason to buy into the project narrative and there was plenty of info available not to.

a trained eye can tell what an "eye-opening athlete" looks like. from the game snippets and his workout videos he looked like a good player to me. i thought he was a solid pick at #4 and nothing to be up in arms about-- matter of fact i liked the pick as it showed some courage on jackson's part and is a reflection of how his relationship with an evidently superb scout in mr. gaines yields positive results.
that he surpassed expectations so spectacularly doesn't take away how stupid smith is and how little he knows about basketball. after all he had every opportunity to check out the same videos of kp6 we all saw.

THIS. I just put that in my pipe and smoked it. Bang on. The empty can rattles the loudest.
These shock jocks add nothing to my sports world.

A couple of things. I agree with you that KP was a good pick at 4. I was really excited with the pick that night and the draft overall. But SAS wasn't the only one saying KP was a three year project. That seemed to be the take by most 'experts'. SAS has a job because he is provocative. I loved Aldridge in his role but I guess the guy just didn't bring the drama enough.

no he adores dolan because dolan is willing to spend money, and apparently that's all one should expect from an owner. he's a classic radio personality, but lacks class.
