Knicks · Sixers Release Tony Wroten (page 1)

Be still my heart.....

Phil needs to pick this guy up asap

nixluva @ 12/24/2015 5:10 PM
WTF? I wonder why they would do that? I like Wroten a LOT! He's always been on my list of aggressive attacking guards I think we need. He's not a shooter or floor general but he's so good at driving and finishing or drawing fouls! I wonder if he's on Phil's radar?
yellowboy90 @ 12/24/2015 5:18 PM
They want sign him eventhough they have an open roster spot or he will be claimed before he becomes a FA. I'm not a Wroten fan but I'd sign him and put him in DL to learn the system.
CrushAlot @ 12/24/2015 5:27 PM
He would be a very good signing in my opinion. I wonder if this is to make room for them to sign Chuck Hayes or another vet.
CrushAlot @ 12/24/2015 5:28 PM
I hope RonRon sees this. He is a huge Wroten fan and has wanted him on the Knicks for awhile.
nixluva @ 12/24/2015 5:41 PM
A healthy Wroten fits this style which rewards cutters and quick drives to the hoop! Think of all the fast break situations and passed up drives Jose wasted. Wrote would thrive in those scenarios. He's still got holes in his game but I like his fit for what this team lacks.
crzymdups @ 12/24/2015 5:47 PM

They're releasing Wroten to make room for Ish Smith.

mreinman @ 12/24/2015 5:48 PM
wait ... why is everyone so gaga over him?
joec32033 @ 12/24/2015 5:53 PM
I would take him, give him a shot if Galloway proves to be nothing more than a bench player. I would love to give Galloway a shot next to Afflalo, but Wroten can be a dynamic offensive player. At the least he can be a guard version of Derrick Williams off the bench.

Because he can do what none of our guards can do ... Breakdown the defense and get to the hoop or pass... He's also a plus defender... I would definitely take TW for our open roster spot... But I don't know if Phil will do so . Tony's weakness is his shot and we know Phil likes his guards to stroke it!

I guess the Pelicans aren't trading Holiday.
CrushAlot @ 12/24/2015 5:57 PM
Sixers really missed Ish this year.

dude can't shoot a lick. How in the world is a guy who can't shoot a lick not good enough for a team with 1 win but we as fans are so damn excited?

anyone see anything wrong with this picture?

Holiday has been playing great lately.

Ish Smith put up some big numbers in New Orleans while Evans was out and Holiday playing on a minutes limit.

knickscity @ 12/24/2015 6:13 PM
Wroten is actually rather awful, and coming back from his acl he hasnt looked good at all.

Also, you have to believe that D'Antoni had at least some input in this move. That is - targeting Ish Smith and cutting ties with Wroten.
