Fish finally getting kinda smart letting D WILL finish the game and benching KP. He deserved to stay in based on play. The rook can sit in the crunch some games depending on situation. But Gallo should be closing out games defensively but he will not let go of his man crush on Jose.
Probably our best team game against a good team all season. Really solid - all of Phil's pick ups this summer looked great in this one (Lopez, Williams, Quinn, Afflalo).
Biggest thing was Fisher's rotation - way better. Not perfect but a huge improvement from the previous games. And 2nd half was best, no Grant at all. That's what you do, Fish. Run a 3 man guard rotation and even slide Thomas to 2 if you have to. NO more Grant/Sasha please.
I love Fisher finally keeping Lance at the two even though he has shot poor tonight. I like his hustle and D over Afflalo despite A As shooting.
Dwill showing what the staff should get KP to do instead of staying by 3pt line.

Yeah, DWill and KP have really similar skillsets.
Another good out of bounds play for a score!!!

Sarcasm, right?

So KP can't cut and finish?

I sound like a broken record....but I said this should be the starting unit from the beginning of the season, with KP off the bench. We would've been in the playoff hunt from the very beginning. KP and Grant would've developed together off the bench running PnR plays.
Jose
AA or LT
D.Will
Melo
Rolo

I would play them together. KP is more of a shooter in my opinion. I'd play KP in the high post, with Dwill cutting off his movement.

He can but he's not nearly as strong and as physical as DWill. KP is more of a Dirk/Kirilenko hybrid player than anything else.

Playing Lance and D Will at the 2, 3 gives us a lot more length and athleticism defensively. It was causing Detroit fits.
When was the last time Lopez played this much in the 4th quarter? If it's happened, I can't remember it.
When DWill gets a little confidence going, he is such a different player.

Both guys play multiple positions....
Fisher didn't look mechanical tonight with his subs......Good job

He's the Odom of this team, for sure . . .

Detroit also has a pretty unathletic group of SGs. They essentially play borderline SFs at the SG slot.
