Playing Lance and D Will at the 2, 3 gives us a lot more length and athleticism defensively. It was causing Detroit fits.

Detroit also has a pretty unathletic group of SGs. They essentially play borderline SFs at the SG slot.

We have to make Lance our 6th Man Hustler .. D.Will is playing his heart-out for more minutes playing all of the 4th qtr.

Best looking game of season (?) Are we all agreed (?)

D Will making the case to be a starter after this game...

By far the best defensive effort of the season. Our D was stellar!

nixluva @ 12/29/2015 9:49 PM
Great game! No Triangle complaints tonight. Hope it's an example of how they should always play.
fitzfarm @ 12/29/2015 9:49 PM
Great win, great win !

No you can't have one good game or a couple in a row and get a starting spot.

SocraticBallin22 @ 12/29/2015 9:50 PM
Guys, don't forget, D Will was the 2nd overall pick of the draft and is an athletic freak with loads of skill and talent! It just takes one team to unlock it and he can be a major player. Let's hope it's us!

Yeah, DWill and KP have really similar skillsets.

So KP can't cut and finish?

He can but he's not nearly as strong and as physical as DWill. KP is more of a Dirk/Kirilenko hybrid player than anything else.

Agree but still feel he should be hovering around the basket as oppose to the 3pt line. At least not as frequently as he seems to do. This may show its not the coaching staff keeping him from getting the ball but maybe his aggressiveness and court positioning. Dwill sure got a lot of shots down the stretch.

TPercy @ 12/29/2015 9:51 PM
great coaching from fisher. great execution from the players.
fitzfarm @ 12/29/2015 9:51 PM

The team looked completely different when he was out there. Just sayin'. Night and Day.

Yeah let's just start with getting this sort of performance more consistently from DWILL.

Yeah, don't change the starters (unless it's Jose!). Just find the best matchups in a given game and run with it.

I sound like a broken record....but I said this should be the starting unit from the beginning of the season, with KP off the bench. We would've been in the playoff hunt from the very beginning. KP and Grant would've developed together off the bench running PnR plays.

Jose
AA or LT
D.Will
Melo
Rolo

No way, KP has been instrumental in so many Knick wins early on and is still a major factor on D, an area where DWill is a huge ???
The problem has been Fisher hasn't used Williams enough off the bench - instead has even used Quinn at 4, instead of DWill. To their credit part of it was to get DWill to play harder and better on D which he has been. I've been really impressed. But this should be our rotation IMO - the exact same we saw tonight maybe minus Quinn at backup 5, maybe slide Zinger there.

Lopez/Porzingis/Quinn
Porzingis/Williams
Melo/Thomas
Afflalo/Galloway
Calderon/Galloway

He should've been the starter a long time ago.....Our starting 5 is too slow and lacks transition. D.Will gives Melo the option on who to play at SF or PF since they both play the same position.

I followed the Lakers when they had Odom as the equivalent. It was painful to wait for the consistency . . . but finally he ended up 6th man of the year.

What makes you think KP off the bench will not be an impact player? Did D.Will start today? Wasn't he instrumental?

He was a starter for one of their championship runs, right? And then went back to the bench?
