Knicks · Cleanthony Early shot during a hold up in Queens (page 3)

Glad to hear Cleanthony's released from the hospital.

NOW ALL KNICK PLAYERS....STOP FLAUNTING YOUR SHIT AROUND TOWN!!!

First DWill, now Cleanthony. Fisher sure got no clout after getting his ass beat by Barnes, it's up to Phil to put an end to these shenanigans.

No clout from Gloria Govan incident? you got some interesting take on how things work.

Fish: Hey guys, lets talk about security.....
Team: What the Phuch coach, you hitting on Matt Barnes ex wife, what you know?
Phil: Move aside Derek, I'll handle it.......

No, this is MSG security have a meeting with some hard core vice cops and lay the reality of how to be rich and young in NYC. Its not that hard.
Clearanthony made a mistake. Players are told lots of things and are instructed they are adults and have professional responsibilities to protect themselves.

Shyt happens, I hope the kid is all right.

Nalod wrote:I won't judge this kid. Maybe they just met up with a friend or something.

All in all Knick players have rarely been in bad situations which means team has good security and are taught what to avoid.
That don't mean they don't always listen or lapse of good judgement. 24 years old and not all savvy in the ways of what the hell not to do. He was sharp enough to take a cab and it all looks like a setup which could be just from Patrons knowing he was there.

This is not how you want a career to end! If released that might be good news as a bullet to the knee can't ever be an easy thing to get back from!!!!

They took the drivers ID? That's scary!!!!! He won't talk.

Taking the Uber's driving license could also be a cover up.....

Wilson Chandler: Unfortunate situation with Cleanthony Early. Glad he’s ok. Can’t but help to think that the Uber driving set him up.

I can't believe that some are actually gonna bash this kid for getting robbed. He's a KID! Not known for the best judgment so I can't see killing him for being a KID and doing what young people do. The exact circumstances aren't that uncommon to many young people. Hopefully he and all young NBA players will be MUCH more careful from now on.
This played out more like a Movie than a typical robbery. He likely thought he was being careful going from the club into an Uber cab rather than being on the street. Who the hell expects to be boxed in like by cars like it's a Hollywood Movie scene?

There's a lot of victim blaming in our culture. I hate it.

After the shooting, Early and the Uber driver "sought help at a nearby house," according to NBC New York:

A neighbor told NBC 4 New York he called 911 because he saw a tall man and another man trying to get into the house and thought it was a break-in; it was Early and the Uber driver, and the man who lived at the home they were trying to access let them in and got them help, the neighbor said.

Im sure being woken from sleep at 4:30 in the morning and perhaps on a row house some man who got shot in the knee asking for help Im sure 911 is not out of the realm of reason.
not the knee!!!!!!!

The problem isn't hanging out at Strip Clubs, it's going from SOHO MANHATTAN to freakin' MASPETH QUEENS!!!

You guys that don't know about New York really don't know the situation do you? Just go to Flashdancers and call it a night! Why was Cleanthony compelled to go to CityScapes instead of Hustler Club which is a short drive up the Westside Highway. Anywhere in Queens at 4 AM in the morning is bad phucking news. At least in Manhattan, he'd get hooked up by the club and given god treatment for winning the game against the Pistons.

Some of you not blaming the victim are as clueless as the victim himself. No common sense whatsoever. DON'T HANGOUT IN BAD NEIGHBORHOODS AFTER MIDNIGHT. Just poor decision making really.

why is blame so god damn important to some of you? Why can't something just "phucking suck" without chiming your anonymous internet morality church lady thing where blame must be assigned.

How does blame actually make anyone feel better except those assigning it?

channeling anger at a blamee as opposed to letting it fester

Bingo. This.

Thats awful, hope Cleanthony can get back to 100 percent. If not, I hope he has a good insurance policy.

Has anyone here ever been to CityScapes?

I went when it was originally in Long Island City, Queens. It was a dump then, and it's an even bigger dumpster fire in Maspeth of all places. Every second you spend there, makes you feel like you're swimming in raw sewage. Nastiest girls you'll ever find, and the security is non-existent.

Cleanthony shouldn't have went or been there. At all.

Why don't you drop him a line on the best Strip Clubs he can go to since you seem to be an expert on the subject. Perhaps you can write a column or advise the team on the ChuckBuck approved locations for a quality lap dance experience and guarantee that you won't be set up and robbed driving home in an Uber cab.

True, I'll text him my contact info for expert analysis on the strip club scene.

Williams got robbed $750000 worth of goods, and now the incident to Early; is it fair to say that our boys are being targeted??

Well he was- alcohol impairs your judgement. He didn't deserve to get robbed and shot in the knee for making a bad decision. Do you absolve the people who actually robbed and shot him of any blame? Did he make them do that by going to the wrong kind of place?
