I happen to agree w/you
it seems so & plus I am a Carmelo fan, Good bad & Ugly, Win Lose OR Draw.

$Money aside at least Melo wants to be in NY,
plus he's passing ball & boards too!

"I think he's been great [at finding that balance]," Fisher said. "And I know that was part of probably why he didn't shoot the ball as well at times because he was thinking about how to facilitate or how to make other players better or how to fit in and buy into what we're doing. I think as the season's gone on, he's found more opportunities to play his game and do what he needs to do. I think he's a great passer, especially early. And I think the trick for us is how to continue to provide spacing where he has outlets after he's gone into his move or his attack."

Glad fisher realizes that Melo passes more early in the game. I have been trying to prove this for 2 years but can't find data to verify.

Good article. Interesting that melo is not passing more but passing better. The main difference to me is the early passes out of the double teams instead of waiting until its too late and making a weak pass that does not lead to a good shot.

I have always said that melo can be a good passer and he just need to want to pass. Many said that melo is who he is and you just have to accept it. NO WAY!

I still hope that he can reduce that fancy flashy pass attempts that lead to turnovers.

Overall, barring injury, I am very happy with his play (beside the last second stupid iso shots and the selfish technicals that he takes over calderon)

He has played great defense as well. He really is playing well this year

The thing is because he's such a good scorer and the only truly good scoring option on the team, the opposing defenses help on him and this leaves a lot of players open. Considering his usage rate - 4 to 5 assists should be expected. What I'd like to see is the pass come sooner and with more care. He throws a lot of passes too late and can hold the ball on for too long. He throws a lot of bad passes as well.

I appreciate he's making an effort to be this type of player - but it can be better with time.

His rebounding continues, the defense is vastly improving even to the casual bystander, and the assists are going to continue to mount, once these other folks gain some consistency. The second half of the season should be lots more fun...

provided there's no more off the court BS and everyone stays healthy and...
