Knicks · Game Thread: Knicks @ Bulls...lets start the new year off right! (page 16)

Jose is at 37 minutes right now with 3 minutes to play and Fish will take out all the starters cuz the game is over. Under no circumstance, I don't care how many shots he's made--should Jose play that many minutes in any game. He played essentially the entire 2nd half! Are you kidding me? He's 34. Such poor management of substitutions.

They're a better team.

But we're very inconsistent with how we execute the offense.
The best sets are when we fill the Triangle spots and just use a S/R game with Calderon or someone else as a ballhandler.
Everything else has been really inconsistent most of the season.

If Charlie Rosen is right, Phil isn't happy with Fisher's job or commitment to the Triangle. It clearly shows this team still hasn't been able to grasp the Triangle very well at all.

It's not about the team grasping the Triangle or not. This is mostly about talent. This roster needs more dependable talent period. They don't get enough easy scores! We miss tons of shots at the basket and get no drives from our guards.

afflalo's line tonight: 2-8 fg, 0 assists, 1 rebound, 2 tos, -26 when he is on the floor.

Again, why do you think the Knicks are better than the Bulls on their home court?

Seriously, I'm dying to hear the explanation for this?

Bulls have been better without Rose all season.

Please explain. Please.

We are not playing good tonight .. It just burns when you get beat by less talent

Ah i see what you're doing.......trolling

Well, Phil decided to be more involved this season....So this also falls on Phil as well. Just like the Eagles, these blowouts will cause some serious changes either in the starting lineup or coaching staff. Too much media and fan pressure for Phil to sit on his hands. I will be all over the rumor sites looking for inside information after this game. Suppose to be a new year and new goals, but it doesn't look like there has been any improvements......Especially without Rose, you would think the knicks had a chance at a win....And to be up by 2 and now it's a blowout, that hurts. Too much energy climbing out of the hole.

Yeah, but still.....we can't be that fragile of a team to get blown out by 24, because of a few missed layups.

Yep, missed shots is why we lost. look at our players shooting percentages.

Yeah, because then the Bulls would only be up by 17.

Actually, it's more than that. It was all about momentum. Missing those shots killed ours and ignited the Bulls to go on this blowout run. Now Chicago has hit about 10 treys in a row.

Yea sucks, wish we came out stronger looks like we ran outta gas on defense

dk7th @ 1/1/2016 10:22 PM
it was that lineup with calderon, williams, seraphin, etc. that killed the knicks tonight. fisher trying to preserve the starters' legs but it backfired big time.
nyknickzingis @ 1/1/2016 10:22 PM
To be fair though, this team isn't that balanced in talent.
We're really strong up front with Porzingis, Melo, Lopez, Thomas, Quinn, Williams, Seraphin even. In the backcourt it's gotten so bad that Calderon is playing almost 40 minutes in games. We don't have enough backcourt talent. We definitely need Phil to make a move, if he can get something good trade wise. Not sure if it's out there. Otherwise just have to wait until the offseason. With the roster as is, the window was 35-40 wins. I think we're not maximizing the talent on the roster, but it's not by that much. Even if this team played better offense tonight, they likely lose. You won't beat top 4-5 teams in the East on the road with our backcourt rotation. Calderon even played well today. Afflalo was MIA. Gallo so-so. Need at least 1 major talent at the 2 or 1 guard spot to get better.

This is why D.Will was available in free agency. Same goes for all the guys we picked up. They all come with baggage. D.Will has never been a solid defender.....But our talent is so low, he looking like he should get more playing time.....When in fact, we should continue to upgrade the talent around him. Thats the most glaring need on this roster. Overall talent and sharpening up coaching strategies and subs.

When Phil stripped this team of talent, he really started from the bottom. And it's clear he never replaced the talent we had.....just improved the character. And character can only take you so far......This team needs better star players to carry the load......Melo can't do it by himself. KP and company isn't helping Melo from getting double teamed. The triangle isn't helping either.....
