Knicks · Christian Wood cut by Sixers (page 1)

I thought he looked good in the nBA and I was high on him as a pick coming into the draft--I really do think hes got nice potential. It really could be a steal for the Knicks to jump on this and let him grow and develop with Kristaps. I think the two can interchange 5-4 ver time and our veteran leadership is a good backbone for him to develop here. Bring him in start him in Westchester with the plans to use him for the last 1/4 of the season at MSG.

i agree. my only concern is that he's been a knuckle head in the past. he was involved with that okafor incident (which is rumored to be why he was cut). he also had incidents in the past at UNLV. just not sure NYC is the best environment for this talented kid

I saw on twitter that the Sixers have his d league rights (Bobby Marks). However, I would think if he was an nba player on assignment by the knicks he would play at Westchester. The Knicks do have a high character team. Maybe having vet role models helps him.

Yeah the Sixers had way to many 20 years olds and probably the quietest best draft pick at the F position in Richaun Holmes. I think in life you take calculated chances when you feel the risk reward may be well worth it.

He may not better than Galloway.

We couldve had Hassan Whitside and been patient with development and had what is a top NBA C for nothing. I think hes got real potential--this is where the 14-15 man roster spots come into play. I was impressed in the actual NBA PT when he got on the court. Putting 14 20 yera olds together is dumb--but having a couple of nthem in a mature environment is a different situation. We could call up Bachniski and let Woods play 5 down there with Atkins.

Knicks would need to create another roster spot to call up Bachynski and sign Wood. Reichert is writing an article on Bachynski tomorrow.

Whiteside is 26 and left college almost 6 years ago. Nobody has a minor league system, you gotta keep them Rostered. Nobody keeps them for 5 years. We and 29 other teams could have had him.

Sixers retain Wood's D-League rights, even if we sign him.

I wouldn't mind taking a look, but I do think we need guard help more immediately..

how bad do you have to be to get cut by the Sixers...

Thats not something that looks good on the resume. And why would anybody brag about a player they were high on, but the 4-33 sixers threw him away like he wasn't worth drafting.....

Ian begley said this 4 years ago abd again today
Reminds me of whitside situation

Wood has some A Davis like skills. If he’s matured. It’s hard to find athletic 6/11 multi skilled players

5 seasons later......awesome!

If this guy is getting cut after being in the league four years, he either just does not have the talent or he is not working hard enough. In either case, we should pass.
