They also got off to a terrible start. It wasn't their night but the way they have been playing to lose to the Nets sucks.
Agree. Last night they were automatic at FT line. Tonight they lost the game at it (and several other sub par performances)
@Dk
Porzingis shoots 43% FG and 18% from 3 with 0 days rest

Probably one of those nights where we should have gone 11-12 deep to cover Melo's mins.
Oh geesh don't do that....Knicks1969 will be making threads about it.
You are correct. An identity is to be maintained regardless of who is or is not playing. It starts with the coach. Our defense was not too solid, because Carmelo was not on the floor. If Carmelo played, this would have been a W
GustavBahler wrote:crzymdups wrote:We needed fewer KP shots and more Afflalo shots tonight. And better D all around. DWill's 31pts are nice, but his defense was bad. But Knicks got jobbed by the refs tonight. Absolutely jobbed.
Nets are elite rim defenders, AA wanted no part of that. Left him to shoot jumpers, but couldn't get the space he needs because he wasnt going to the rim enough.
He was shooting well tonight though and scoring pretty well inside. I don't think the Knicks ran enough plays for him, or he wasn't aggressive enough getting to his spots. He was letting Wayne Ellington keep him off his spots? Really?
This was a bad loss. The refs were absolutely horrendous, Knicks missed too many FTs... but still... terrible loss. Knicks didn't force their matchup advantages nearly enough. Grant got to the rim at will and didn't do it enough. Afflalo was scoring well from the post and didn't get the ball enough.
Knicks honestly looked like they thought they'd win this and didn't really bring enough intensity. Terrible terrible loss. But again, the refs took this game away from them at the end of the 4th with no calls on the Nets and bad calls on the Knicks. Hell the game started with Rolo blocking Brolo cleanly and refs called a foul. It was so blatantly awful that Brook was laughing.

why all the extreme hatred toward the nets? I want to beat them badly but i dont hate them. I dont question why nets fans are net fans either. Just beat them and move on
They ruined downtown Brooklyn? Their owner spent the last five years taunting Knicks fans? They're pathetic? They signed Bargnani?
its just about basketball, shouldnt be personal
Ok? In basketball terms I hate them because they are beating my team. Why do you care?
i dont care just wondering. No need to be nasty
How is anything I said nasty?
Take it outside, guys.
no... i wanna see... coz when 2 people are debating on here, Starks is quick to jump in and "referee". i wanna know how what crzymdups said is personal...he's talking about the Nets and Proko... unless Starks is related to either...I dont see anything personal

how is it a setback? We are playing well. Its a back to back and we are shorthanded. Cant win every game
Agree! It's not a setback. This is just one of those games.
Damn y'all making me sound like a hater...haha.
Losing to the Nets as bad as they have been, knowing this game was a "trap" game after yesterday, we were at high risk to lose is tough to take either way.
I don't think saying it's a setback is exactly a poor comment. A good team should be winning it, no?
exactly
Over 82 games you're get a game like this. A lot of things went wrong. No MELO! KP with one of his worst games! The Refs not calling a good game! Just not having the focus and energy on D!
You're right about what you say bro, just tough given that we could have won, Williams was playing very well, and the Nets have been so bad. I know it happens, but ughh.

What kind of dean tells guys to take it outside?!?!
Larkin crushed the knicks in constant PnR. Our picks were rare and pathetic
mreinman wrote:Larkin crushed the knicks in constant PnR. Our picks were rare and pathetic
Larkin was playing for revenge. Knicks were playing hungover from hanging out in Williamsburg last night.
mreinman wrote:Larkin crushed the knicks in constant PnR. Our picks were rare and pathetic
I hope Fisher gets on KP about his picks. He keeps half assing them.
This is why Phil needs to add more talent. It's good to have quality depth. We need more quality on the bench.

Our bench played great tonight. Our starters shat the bed.
I believe this was a trap game and said so before when I learned Melo was out. Without Melo the talent of the two teams isn't that far in favor of the Knicks, ad even if the Knicks are more talented than them without Melo, they were coming of a game the previous night and it was a game they went all out. There just wasn't as much emotion in it. They played well in spurts, but without Melo you see a team that has a ton of role players trying to create shots and work harder on offense. That weakens the effort left for defense. I know if Melo is out for a significant time - like 7-8 games, the team could figure it out and be competitive.
Certainly think if Porzingis isn't tired and playing like he has been previous 5 games in terms of shooting the ball, they can win. Porzingis just didn't have his shot tonight. Everything seemed a bit off. Without Melo, really needed Porzingis to play like a star, which he was willing to do (took 17 shots and was aggressive in calling for the ball and taking shots) but unable to convert them.
Real stinger - hate losing to a team we're better than. This is part of the regular season grind though. At Memphis will be another tough game.
mreinman wrote:Larkin crushed the knicks in constant PnR. Our picks were rare and pathetic
are you saying that larkin ran some of the triangle sets way better?
mreinman wrote:Larkin crushed the knicks in constant PnR. Our picks were rare and pathetic
Knicks are not that bad. Just need another shot maker in the event that we need a guard to come in like tonight. Sasha just doesn't have it anymore
Larkin didn't win the game. We lost it. And it wasn't jose either. He actually showed some life
Poor D and little things lost it. Fugly all game long
When LT and KP missed their FT I got a real bad feeling.
Its one loss after a back to back...not the end of the world. Also we were missing our leading scorer. We are playing good ball
The nets were super efficient. 52% from the field and 53%!! from 3. Defense was terrible.
