As for greg monroe i never really wanted him that badly i wanted aldrige or jordan playing alongside KP but that was a pipedream

Just think that if we knew about KP what we know now we might have actually had a chance at LMA cause if the rumors were right the interview with us was canceled because he didn't want to play center and wanted to play PF but Phil told him he'd want him to play the center spot mostly. That's not saying we still would have got him but the rumors were also that he was intrigued with the Knicks so you never know.

PG--Calderon
SG--A.Afflalo
SF--Melo
PF--LMA
C--KP

Would you guys rather that lineup or:
PG--Calderon
SG--A.Afflalo
SF--Melo
PF--KP
C--R.Lopez

I'm all about option #1

I always believed that we never really had a shot at getting Aldridge...and I think Phil knew this.

Texas boy going to a great and storied team which also happens to be located in Texas with a chance to win a title...can't get any better him.

I'm sure he also believed all the hype about KP being a 3-5 year project.

I think he made the right decision for himself given the info he had at the time.

very true. Plus who the heck would turn down the spurs? Im a diehard knick fan but the spurs have probably been the most consistently good team in all sports since the late 90s

KP isn't ready to play C all game, and I don't think it should ever be his full time position.
I'm happy we have Lopez. I think the Lopez/Porzingis/Melo/Williams rotation is one of the best in the league.

Where we need help is the backcourt. Afflalo and Calderon are solid, but no team in the league is a contender without atleast 1 star in the backcourt. Spurs maybe, but Tony Parker is still way better than any backcourt player we have. And they've got a good creator in Ginobli and a strong guard rotation. Parker's production and impact blows away any guard we have. The rest of the top teams have an Curry, Irving/James, Westbrook, Lowry type of player.

If we can get say possibly a DeRozan or a Conley this summer, the Knicks will be very good over the coming years.

Them some strong words but I like their potential. To flush it out Knicks need 1 more big off the bench who is reliable, KOQ just not ready or capable. I want Willy to be that guy but am realistic about the possibility being very low.

Batum is the free agent that I want most of all. Our version of Pippen or Odom.
