If this were KP, I know the board would have been flooded with threads after threads:) but it is all good, cause I too love the kid.
I am so glad that Carmelo was voted to the Allstate. the world has seen how much of a difference maker this dude can be, and he was rewarded accordingly.

dude he's been an allstar like 6 yrs in a row, nothing shocking about him getting the nod
Last year was questionable but this year, Melo is well deserved. No question. Congrats, Melo.
He is riding the momentum of playing in a big market and has been a starter now 7 years.
But, He is very deserving this year even though his numbers are down! he is a better player!!!
Why is that Knicks1969? Why are the knicks better this year, and why is Melo playing better??
A game that I won't even be watching. Last year a banged up Melo wanted to play so badly in such a useless game that he put off surgery and shutting it down. I could careless for all star game. I'd rather he play in championship games. His priorities are so whacked that it's actually mind boggling.
This all star game is such a sham there isn't even a center or for that matter a legit PF staring for either side.
I'm more looking forward to seeing KP and hopefully Grant if invited to the Rookie/Sophomore game. See him square off against Towns, Okafor, Stein, Mudiay, Russell, Wiggins, Lavine, Parker, etc..
Soon, KP will be the perennial All star and face of the Knicks. Social media and jersey sales already say so.

why does this matter? who cares who the face of the knicks is and who sells the most jerseys? face of the knicks and jersey sales aside, i know for damn sure who has been the knicks best player this year and the jersey number reads "7"
Truly deserving this year.
Has been a top 10 player so far. Not a guy getting in based on reputation.
Keep it up Melo !!!!

Its a fan vote... its who the fans want to see play vs. other players. Fans vote for Kobe because they want to see a Kobe/Curry backcourt. Its called fun. I think there is too much salt in your diet dude! Maybe Im reading too much but that's a lot of salt in a post about a fan voted all star game. Fans want to see Melo and Lebron. Its fun. For the players it means something also. People take some pride in being regarded as elite among their peers. This is a meeting of the elite.
Obviously I am happy for the guy but it would be cool if he took the time to rest but that's not happening.
He's probably having the best overall year of his career.
I was happy Melo was voted in and happy with how things ended up overall. Was glad to see Lowry pass Irving. He deserved it. Also I was glad fans wised up and made a push to get Leonard the start over Green. Green being voted in as a starter over him would be ridiculous. I'd sooner they just pick a random. At least that's got some comedic value.

Nalod, Phil and Fisher deserve some credit.

Let's hope he has not just been jinxed and put in future Lin category. Please stop talking way ahead of time.

Agree, but Carmelo and the Knicks need to be present to show the world that this Orcanization is on the way back. We have been a bottom feeder for way too long.
KP will replace Melo as a starter as soon as next year, but glad people still recognize that Melo deserves it for the way the knicks have started this season.

Replace???? Why are you so quick to dethrone the man? What if KP regress in his sofmore season?

All Star game isn't fun for me I guess I have out grown the need to see so called elite players, never been about individual players. I find the All Star game to be a mockery of how basketball is suppose to be played. Honestly I can't watch basketball unless the Knicks are playing.
Hell yeah I have excess salt in my diet. My doctor tells me to cut back all the time get that BP in control.

+1
Last year it was sort of an embarrassment. This year it is deserved.
Very happy he was voted in as a starter ahead of Drummond. The recognition is very important for Melo, because of the losses of the Knicks in the last few years. Along with this selection and a stronger team, I hope that this becomes a banner year for Melo and the Knicks going into a playoff berth.

Always possible, but we can only hope that KP continues to progress. Plus, my assumption is based on KP's rising popularity. 4th in jersey sales will be reflected in future all-star fan votes. He's our most popular player now, which leads me back to my original point that i am glad fans stil recognize Melo as our best player, despite no longer being our most popular. But soon, that will not be the case, and KP's popularity will override Melo in all-star voting. No one is dethroning Melo, i am a big fan, and one of his biggest supporters on this board.

KP'S jersey will be the starting point guard in next year's jersey All Star game. Lin's Knick Jersey will be a perennial reserve.
Kidding asside besides everyone already having Melo jerseys. Do you think his popularity has anything to do with KP being white? We were discussing on the court and seemed like some thought so.
