I don't see Atlanta doing more then gauging interest right now. If a deal gets done it will be closer to the trade deadline at which point we will likely be 24-31 with very slim chance of making the playoffs, so no not mad

Brian Geltzeiler: Sources tell me that the Hawks are currently fielding offers for Teague from several teams. As of now, the Knicks are NOT one of them
this is the perfect time to get teague on his down year. I would even be willing to take back THJ and give the grant.
I can't think of any teams outside of Milwaukee, N.O., and Utah that could use Teague. Well Brooklyn is another team other than the Knicks so in total that is 5.

I don't know what they want. Statically, Calderon is a better player than Teague even at his old age and they have a young Pg already but who knows if anyone values him. AA seems to always have value for some reason and is doing better this year than last year. Korver has looked bad maybe they want another two guard? This would get Hardaway, Patterson, and Holiday out of the line up.
I think it would probably need to be a 3-team deal and send whatever you can from what the knicks could get back for Afflalo. That would be my goal.
However, like I said earlier I would not be looking at teague and would be calling up N.O. asking about Holiday. Holiday's age would buffer the loss of Grant. Grant has not looked good but he is a rookie on a good contract.
The knicks have their 1st round picks after 2018 to use and a 2017 2nd rd pick from houston too.
I'd make Wroten a plan B, but I would really try to get Avery Bradley from Boston. I think Bradley can be Derek Fisher's Chicago version of Ron Harper.

teague is much better than holiday.
AA is having a better year than last? Same crappy year pretty much.
I know they took THJ but nobody is stupid enough to believe that calderon is a better player than teague even though statistically he has good numbers.
My question is, will teague's value be recognized on a team that runs so few PnR's?

Well right now Holiday is playing better and most of their numbers are comparable. What Teague has him in is FTAs but I Holiday has up it this year and do not think this is a blip. I think it is a sign of a player that is fully healthy. Plus he is only 25 so he has more room to go. Holiday has been the more consistent shooter from deep and the knicks will need that.
2) If AA keeps cratering then I guess he will be back at last years numbers but then again maybe he goes on another run before the deadline.
3) Teague plays alot without the ball but I am not sure how he will look. Hopefully like a better version of Grant who can knock down the open 3 and finish at the rim. So basically he would be nothing like Grant. lol. Also, I think the pgs run more PnRs than most realize. I need to look at the data but I wonder if Grant and Jose are still above 30% for PnR possession.

I'm hearing that Utah looks to be the best trade option for Teague cause they have a lot of good young pieces to trade for him.

I'd love to get A.Bradley but don't see Boston trading him to us. He plays great defense and can get to the basket but needs help with his shot. This seems to be what a lot of the PG's on the trade block are missing is a good outside shot.

It is looking like the cost to us would be a 1st rd pick. I think the days of us giving our 1st rd picks away for a short term patch are in the past, so time to move on.

it's always tough to imagine a celts-knicks trade (especially when both might be competing for the same playoff spot), but they need help up front and have a ton of guards, e.g., isiah, marcus, rozier

Yeah i don't see Phil trading away any 1st round picks unless it was for a player that is on the right contract and is the right guy for the team Phil wants to build and if that player could help right away and in the future but i still don't see Phil doing it.
Remember, Lance Thomas has to agree to any trade because the team acquiring him would lose his early bird rights- essentially trading for him offers the other team no advantage- they would have to re-sign him out via cap space.

I'd gladly trade KoQ OR Serapin and Calderon for Avery. If not for Melo's bromine with Afflalo(who I like), I would love to see an Avery/Galloway backcourt.
