Used to be able to play the point some or at least initiate offense. Maybe looking to resurrect career or new contract after season. His shot has turned awful though

I think that feeling is ingrained in all of us from watching him kick our butts with Indiana - hard to believe that's over-- but it looks like it is..

When I look at his 4 years as a Pacer I'm amazed at how he was progressing as a player...seemingly on the verge of becoming a solid mainstay as SG on a very good Pacer team.

Did not follow what happened in Indianapolis, or whether he simply wanted more money, but its amazing how much his career has declined since he left the Pacers.

Didn't he turn down a big contract offer as well which everyone couldn't believe he turned down from the Pacers or am i thinking about someone else?? I'm pretty sure it was him but not sure.

Ahhh...you might be right. And then he had to accept less money from Charlotte for a shorter contract...probably expecting that he could build up his value.

I think Indy offered 5yr $40M and he felt he was being undercut and wound up signing with Charlotte for 3yr $27M - so slightly more per year, but less overall. His drop off was crazy. But apparently there were issues behind the scenes in Indy, as well.

It was weird there. Paul George was asked if he wanted Lance back and he was non committal. They came into the league together. I think he bet on himself when he went to Charlotte. He was supposed to be their best player.

We are learning there was a reason he fell so far in the draft and did not develop into the talent he was potentially.

Rodman was not a highly touted high school prospect and he won 2 chips before he got to the bulls. If you reads phils take on getting him (its in his books) he describes that the team took him and understood the baggage that comes with it but it was a strong championship core with a structure. Phil was not about "Manhandling" Artest. Gotta read it guys. Artest also came onto a strong core of players.

Stephanson coming on to knicks is not the same as the others. Artest had proven himself a very very good player for a number of years. Lance had one good year. He has character issues are one thing when your talent on the court shines thru. When it don't, its dismal.

Lances career trajectory is not looking good these days. Phil is not the coach.

BTW, our reclamation project this year is Derek Williams.

Why doesn't he fit BRIGGS???

Why T F would we want Lance Stephenson? He cant shoot the 3 he is an undisciplined basketball player and he has had character problems?????

Ahhh... the perfect Isiah pick. Get it done. Oh wait...

In fairness to DWill. he is not given the same latitude as Melo or Affalo to get on track. His minutes seem to fluctuate wildly, as opposed to him being given direction and a chance to correct his mistakes while playing. For some of the outbursts that he has had, I would have thought that he would get more PT.

This may be very well true but it could also be exactly because the coaching staff has been very direct with him about what he should be doing and when.

The only player I think I can say for sure that this is happening is KOQ. It's easy to see when he messes up and boy does he have a quick leash. Perhaps same with DWill or perhaps Fish was just a poor communicator and coach.

I agree with the note that Most of Phil's championship teams had some mentally off guys. Rodman, Artest, Bynum, Odom.

But as already noted, Phil won't be on the bench. And Carmelo (and KP) aren't quite the magnitude of stars that Jordan/Pippen or Kobe/Shaquille (or Gasol) were.

Lance looked liked he was on the cusp of superstardom just a few years ago. Curious why he didn't work out in Charlotte (I expected him to come out chucking!), and especially on the Clippers, where you would have expected Doc Rivers, Cp3 et all to keep him focused.
