to those of you who claimed to know the triangle; can you please tell me whether Phil has ever called a play for either Jordan or Kobe during his years of coaching?

I don't get it?? How would anyone on a message board know if Phil ever called a play for them??

We run an offense.... why can't guys get that concept. We're running a continuous play from the time the ball is inbounded. The guys have to make their necessary cuts and everyone has a shot at making a basketball play.
Now guys can be targeted as the person they want to get the shot. The defense will dictate whether or not that happens.
Get that concept into your head and don't be a ignorant knicks fan. Understand what you are watching

I am sorry, but are you trying to tell me that Jordan or Kobe didn't get plays called specifically for them? So they were all getting the 20+ shots per game and it was all because they moved so well within the triangle offense? In that case, all the players on this team need to just get open and Jackup shots from left and right:)

The triangle is a read/react offense, but there are set plays no matter what the scheme in any system.
This is Fisher's idea of running a play:
NOOB Coaching at it's worst...
D'OH, which way did they go George, which way did they go!

One guy dribbling while 4 guys stand around and watch can hardly be called an offense

Exactly THIS is what Mark Jackson was doing in timeouts at GSW when he was let go

I am a die hard Knicks fan and try and always get behind the players that we have, but some days I just can't help but be negative. We have 3 areas that I had major ??'s about this offseason and none of them have been satisfied
1) The Triangle offense. I just don't like it. I don't like the spacing of it or that there is so much read and react. I like a motion offense but think there needs to be more rules and more set plays.
2) Our Coach. Still like Fisher but I wish we had a coach with more experience. I think the only way we get that is to widen the pool from only triangle guru's. Wouldn't mind Fisher moved to the front office next season
3)Our starting PG. I still can't help but to look around the league with PG envy on a nightly basis. We have one more year of Jose and I'm good with that but would rather see him playing as a reserve next season

My sentiments precisely. I never heard a coach say that he doesn't call plays. Never. I don't care how good of a system you have as a coach, there will be time when you will have to step in and establish order; specifically, in the forth quarter.

Take a 15 second bit and not the rest of it and judge the man. Was that last year? He shave the beard? What game was that? We down by a lot? Who was he talking to?

They ran the triangle. Same plays we ran. Michael and Pippen were hall of fame players. Of course they would succeed better than Affalo or lance Thomas.

You guys are aware that the TV folks are not allowed to show any clips giving actual details on this or that play...aren't you?
...Or are you the kind of people who think that the crap they allow you to here on the sidelines is the real game?
Just wondering.
