wait!
I thought that he was always a well rounded player but he is just passing now because he now finally has a great team???
this is one of the worst threads ever since i have seen briggs' threads. lol.
your best player...is playing like your best player...being a leader on the court...and people have a problem with that.

He took 18 shots. He also got to the line 14 times and was 2 assists away from a triple double. At one point cwebb said if he was Melo he would stop passing and just try to score.
4-18 isn't trying to score? Only in NY and only with blind Melo lovers is 4-18 being too unselfish. Throw in piss=poor D and you have a complete game.

4-18 isn't 4-27. Only in NY does the guy that got Detroit over the limit early in the third to fuel the comeback, led the team in boards and assists get questioned by 'knick' fans.

Playing on an injured knee, too. Sigh.

He's our best player he's been a really good nba player but his shooting is going south. I think as a Knicks fan I know it's going to end bad with melo. A guy closing on 32 with serious knee surgery who is already having problems w the same knee? The guys 245 pounds how's he going to get better?
even though i wanted melo to average no more than 30 minutes a game, we got great basketball out of melo for 35 games this season before he started to break down from too many minutes-- we should all be grateful for those 35 games but as he continues to age the super-max contract will continue to look worse and worse. as it is if he playes 66 games this season, that is 347,000 dollars per game, or 11,500 dollars per minute at 30 minutes a game.
i really hope he does what's right by the knicks and removes himself from the all-star game. if he doesn't then it's really not a good look and it will reek of same ole conceited me-first melo.
we should also all accept that, perhaps, his destiny as a key piece of a title-contending knicks team will be in limited minutes off the bench. he should have never been playing more than 30 minutes a game to begin with. the writing is on the wall.
going forward the knicks and fisher should be focussing on developing the team with limited melo minutes in mind as they prepare for upcoming seasons-- playoffs should be an afterthought.
even the most sentimental knicks fans/melo fans should be on board with this.
