Knicks · Carmelo another 4-27 game (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 2/4/2016 10:11 PM
Hes good at drawing contact but his shooting is going south--he cant point fingers thats for sure.
crzymdups @ 2/4/2016 10:13 PM
He took some back breaking threes early in the clock.

He ran the pick and roll great in the second half.

Nitpicking one guy's shooting on a night when the team shot 27% in the first half.

yellowboy90 @ 2/4/2016 10:20 PM
27?

He took 18 shots. He also got to the line 14 times and was 2 assists away from a triple double. At one point cwebb said if he was Melo he would stop passing and just try to score.

BRIGGS must have had a few too many tonight

mreinman @ 2/4/2016 11:59 PM
melo is playing great team ball but we can't win if he keeps going 4-16 and 4-18. not really anything he can do differently aside from just hoping that these shots will start falling.

Melo's legs can't be used to all this defense. He seems like he is just losing lift on his shots. Can also happen with age or mileage

It's normal.
You cannot do some things when you get older but it takes time to believe, accept, and get used to it.
Some players never able to do this but others can on the way to greatness.
Melo now is tested. Will see how he will go about it.

Bonn1997 @ 2/5/2016 8:14 AM
It sucks that once Melo finally became a well-rounded player, he can't shoot.

You reversing the logic.
He can became well-rounded player because he cannot score as before.

ChuckBuck @ 2/5/2016 8:49 AM
I'd rather have him brick it, as long as the rest of his game is well rounded.

Right now, we desperately need someone else that can create for himself and others, and that person simply isn't on the roster yet.

I wouldn't say i'd rather see him putting up bricks but he clearly needs that other player that can create for himself. Afflalo can do it sometimes but he's just not consistent enough. KP will one day be that but he still has a lot of work to do. Give this team a quality point guard, a SG that can hit the 3 ball and a PF that can play defense and rebound and this team would be dangerous.

Lesser of 2 evils. If he goes off for 30, but only gets like 1 assist, the Knicks are worst.

This also means he's using more of his energy for offense, rather than boxing out, playing D, and finding other players.

Yeah, either way we're gonna keep losing 7 out of every 8 games if he shoots 4-20 or if he puts up points but sucks at everything else. I guess it feels a little better to know he's trying but losing every game still sucks.

So we need a whole new team??

Knixkik @ 2/5/2016 11:28 AM
Melo is continuing to impact the game even when his shot is off. That's all we can ask of him.

Easy to "fix" what you think is broken with hypothetical concept of a coach who had different players would come in and magically make change with the same roster.
No, Mark Jax or Luke Walton is not bringing Curry, Iggy and Thompson with them. Thibs won't have uninured and in prime Rose, Noah or even Dunleavy.

Delusional to think otherwise.

Team is not that talented and at .500 Fisher is doing a great job and after 51 games they are playing over their heads. As we move away from .500 they are what we thought they'd be.
Its one thing to be disappointed, its another to think you know better. You know what is obvious. Knicks are not a good team.

I thought that he was always a well rounded player but he is just passing now because he now finally has a great team???
