We are not mobile we dont have the guard play to compete at the highest level. When I look at Lebron--at the end of the day hes a guard--he controls the dribble Harden Parker Westbrook Curry every great team has a guy who makes plays CONTROLLING the dribble
who controls our dribble--Im not even sure?? Jose C??
We aren't better because we don't have an Xs and OsType of coach to teach pure basketball fundamentals. Things such as moving without the ball, set picks to help the shooters, etc. plus, our coach is terrible at in-game adjustments. Further, we have we have a terrible starting PG that should have been stretched during the offseason

This doesn't make any sense. The whole offense requires all the players to be able to work the fundementals.Fisher does suck at substitutions and in game decisions but teaching fundementals? That's ridiculous.
The Knicks are much improved in all aspects of the game. The Knicks are just a mediocre team. The backcourt sucks and the front court isn't good enough to carry the team.
Better guard play is what we need. Shved or Lin really changes this team. We had a chance to get them in the off season but went a different direction.

Phil screwed up here. We could have had Lin and Schved for what we're paying Oquinn and Sasha.

Much improved because we now have high IQ ballers on the roster; thanks to Phil. The group of players just need a good coach to help them over-achieve.

Lin is not a triangle type of guard. He is a ball dominant dude that can't coexist with guys like Carmelo
I chose a combination of all of them but some more than others.

I think Lin would have fit - and given Melo has been passing the ball, maybe even they could have kissed and made up.
I think Lin is a cerebral player- and the triangle needs thinking players.

it definitely is a combination of things.
But, as I think about it- I want to change my vote & go with bad system.
I think we have the talent, but the system, and the coach, have held us back some.
Maybe 5 wins? That puts us right in the 8th slot for sure.

Maybe now that JR is not in NY to affect Carmelo's thinking, perhaps they could coexist. He sure as hell is much better than Jose. We should have stretched Jose over the summer and kept Shved

It certainly ain't the system. The person coaching the system and our inefficient PG play at both ends of the court are the reason we are bad. The culprits are Jose and Fisher.
I think we're an improving team that hit an injury bump to three of our top 8 guys, really 4 of our top 8 if you count KP being limited by his illness or the rookie wall, whatever it is.
I think they will play better again very soon, maybe even tonight. Their schedule leading up to the all-star break is favorable.
They're still growing as a team - that's going to mean some bumps in the road and setbacks. They've lost 6 of 7, but 3 of the 6 losses were to top 4 teams in the West. It's gonna happen.
I think before March we'll be talking about how well they're playing again. Just a little beat up by the season right now.

So this is our team
Melo--every game starter
KP6--every game starter
R.Lopez--every game starter
A.Afflalo--every game starter
That's it for anyone on our team that has starter potential and AA should be a 6th man
L.Thomas--Really good defender and has gotten better on offense
D.Williams--Good bench player but the only things he's good at is dunking, getting to the basket and getting to the line. He has no outside shooting, rebounding or defense.
J.Calderon--Good shooter and can run a team and that's it.
L.Galloway--Streaky shooter and a good defender and good at getting to the basket but he's somewhat inconsistent.
And now comes the bad part
Sasha--has finally started to hit some shots but we all know he's still blah
K.Seraphin--I believe he should be the first big off the bench but he's still blah
KOQ--Very blah
J.Grant--needs a ton of work
L.Amundson--ugh
Thumpo--not ready and might never be
C.Early--gun shot to the knee.
So this is the team that D.Fisher has to choose from in games for his rotations. This is it guys nothing more. So the only players that have played good enough to deserve any playing time after our starters is L.Thomas, D.Williams and L.Galloway and that's it and all three of them have been very inconsistent lately and people want to complain about his rotations. I mean all the Fisher haters please take your hater blinders off for a minute and give this some serious thought and please understand that i'm not trying to be a jackazz or be sarcastic so just seriously look at this team that every night he has to choose from when the starters need rest. I already know the 4 or 5 people that won't really give this some serious thought and really look at the players we have and Fisher has to choose from but the rest of you please tell me how this is all the fault of Fisher when the players he has to choose from are this bad. And again i'm not or never have said Fisher is a great coach but he absolutely deserves some credit and much more credit then he gets.

Just imagine this team with 2 more quality perimeter players! A good point guard and a SF/SG that can pass, has decent driving and shooting ability. We have too many PF/C's and not enough quality perimeter players. Phil has to rebalance the roster and continue to upgrade the talent. Fish is still learning but the biggest issues are still talent based IMO.
We're exactly where everyone predicted we would be before the season started,I don't get why people are throwing tantrums. Rome wasn't built in a day.

I think we both know that Phil is and has been trying to do everything he can to upgrade this team but this team was in bad shape when Phil took over and we're still somewhat going through it. We just don't have enough assets yet to make many moves to get better so hopefully that will change in the next year or two and it should. We badly need Phil to hit a home run this off season which most likely won't happen but i'll take a triple and will be content with a double.
I hope Fisher starts Lance, Melo, Afflalo, Gallo, and Lopez from now on. DWill, KP, and Jose as 15-20 minute fillins. These starters looked great last night and really clicked. Almost brought us back from the dead. The 3 bench players would be perfect in that role for now.
Last year the team won 10 games at this point.
Maybe instead we can ask "Why are the knicks better"?
