Has KP6 hit the wall? Sure seems like it. Consider his minutes - over 1400 minutes so far this year, compared to a total of 1072 last year in Spain. That is 27.9 v. 21.7 MPG. Wonder if it is time to let the kid rest more (he has had 3 days of rest once this season, and has his best +/- coming back from this, small sample but maybe worth considering). My concern is that tired athletes are more injury prone, and KP6 has already played 25% more this year than he ever has. I say let's take the long view and get the kid more rest.
He may have. It might be the illness he's been dealing with.
One thing I noticed last night is that Fisher tended to only have him on the floor for five game minutes at a time.
I think that's smart and will conserve him. He probably shouldn't be playing more than 24 minutes per game right now.
I think so. This (50 games) is pretty much a complete season for the ACB.
That respiratory and flu thing sure didn't help him. Flu KP?

I look at him and I see a guy who is
A struggling physically
B Is in between positions--what am I a 5-4-3? He wants to be all. I think he ends up a 5 who can move to 4 at times. With his touch and length---think about how good he could be if he dedicated to become a full time interior player---hed be better than Patric Ewing. Hes he needs to get stronger but not that much. He needs to learn how to play inside.
Something is definitely wrong. He was always inconsistent with his shooting. To make up for his inconsistent shooting he always helped us with rebounding and defense. His rebounding dipped a long time ago. His defense and shooting has not been the same since he got sick. The cure for inconsistent/poor shooting is to receive some easy shots. The problem is that our coach does not run plays and our guards can't pass well enough to even throw an ally opp or entry pass to an athletic 7'3" big.
Porzingis looks mentally spent at times. Most of us would feel taxed if we had to deal with what KP has at 20 and new to this country.
Kristaps doesn't look like he is run down, just a bit overloaded, dealing with the constant media attention as well. KP should try meditation or Tai Chi if he hasnt already. Better that than hitting the clubs. Dont want to see a pic of KP passed out in a club lol, although the odds of that happening seem remote. Very grounded young man, tight knit family.

He has absolutely hit the rookie wall and no i don't agree that his illness from several days ago has anything to do with it. It's the rookie wall so hopefully the all star break will help him which also depends on what choice he makes about going to play for the Latvian team or staying here and working on his game.
His illness did not help him, and you can see that his energy level is down. Getting sick was at this point was not a good thing, though.
Would love to see what his weight is at this point in the season.
I see the deficiency in energy on D. There have been a number of shots he would blocked earlier in the year that he has not blocked recently. I think the shot blocking gives you an idea of where he is energy-wise.
I see it on O, too. Does not move as much without the ball. Seems willing to set some picks off the ball and not force the issue. Must say, though, that there have been many moments this year where his movement has not been recognized by other players, and I believe that a realization that he is not going to get the ball when he has gotten into position to score has to dampen his energy level. He needs to be set up for some midrange Js.
Wonder if anybody monitors the time he spends on his own...wonder if he works too hard during his "free time." Just a thought.
Wish he could rest during the break. The Rising Stars event is good for the experience, but not so good for the legs and body of a tired kid who is not yet as physically mature as many (most) of the other rookies.
Kristaps Just won rookie of the month..... bye
OK, so on the day of this post KP6 goes off for 17/10 and 6 blocked shots.

He looked bad and lethargic for about two weeks. I think the antibiotics finally kicked in. Glad it was the sinus infection and not the wall.
