Knicks · Is Ballstreams down? (page 1)

I get an error message when I try to watch it on my roku and the site won't open with my phone or pc. Anyone hear anything? I know they stopped taking credit cards for payment but the site has been fine.
CrushAlot @ 2/5/2016 8:54 PM
I just checked their other site, hockeystreams and it is down as well.

Sounds like both sites got shut down. Back to bad streams when the Sabres play.

It is awful. Pre-ballstreams I watched a lot f bad streams. The Knicks are blacked out about 1/3 of the time on my freak cable package.

I wish league pass would let people watch their home team. I am spending the year away from NYC and I can watch the Knicks only league pass online for $99 and it's great quality. Can watch any archived Knicks game anytime. And there are plenty of times when I am allowed to watch other games in high quality, too.
WaltLongmire @ 2/5/2016 10:39 PM
Noticed that it was down this morning.

Though about starting a thread, but was hoping that it was temporary. I download torrents on a regular basis, and some of those websites have been shut down at times but usually restarted at some point.

Payed for the service, but I figured that something could happen...so I always expected I might lose some money.

Back to hooking the laptop up to the TV and using some of the other resources available.

Yeah. Ballstreams let you watch all games despite your location. Also, all games were archived so you could watch them n demand. League pass wouldn't work for me and it costs a ot more. This was y second season with ballstreams. I hope they come back but their sister site, hockey streams is also down.

Pay for a VPN service...which is what I do because I use the torrent sites.

If you use on, and choose a location outside of the U.S., you can use League Pass to watch the Knicks.

Might do it next season.

I think at mid-season they do a reduced deal for the rest of the season. You can do Knicks only. I'm paying in $24 per month x 4 installments and it is fantastic.

Only weird thing is that the league pass online feed is definitely about 30sec-1min behind the TV broadcast, so if I follow the game thread too closely or look at the boxscore online, I get spoilers sometimes, which is annoying.

I might do the same. Can't believe ballstreams is done. When I have time I watch a ton of games. I did the bad stream thing for years. I was hoping those days were done.

Walt, I feel bad. I really talked the site up. We went to very basic cable because of ballstreams. Not sure what we will do. I used to stream using sports sites on playon but they don't compare to ballstreams.
MaTT4281 @ 2/6/2016 9:20 AM
That sucks. Almost made the investment to Ballstreams this year, but got stuck while trying to set it up on my Xbox.

Definitely not the same quality, but for those looking for a streaming site, I've been using http://nba-stream.com/live/knicks-live-s.... Just bookmark the one link, it updates for the current day's game.

League pass really does need to do something about the local blackouts, especially in an age where people are cutting cable and moving to digital services like Netflix and Hulu.

Not one good pun in this thread, inexcusable.
CrushAlot @ 2/6/2016 11:58 AM
Some more info here. Seems like it is done but this guy is looking into things. Also gives a place for alternative streams.

Saw this on twitter as an alternative to ballstreams. They have 3 day free trial and their pricing is similar. I don't know anything about their service.

I knew it wasn't an "official" source for the games, and similar free sites (of lesser quality) I've used have been blocked/ended at certain points in time. Got to see half the season...can't get upset with what amounts to a $40 loss.

I know I'm going to miss the ability to see it on a large TV screen and to see archived versions of a game, but I figure that I'll survive.
