Phil and Rambis said they actually believe the players should be performing better and that there is some good talent on the roster. I think they believe in the talent, even if they know they need more talent. IMO the team was defending better earlier in the year and 10 games ago they were 22-22 and looking like they were getting better. Fish might've survived if they had gone over .500 and got a few wins over the last 10 games. It may have been a blessing that things did go south, when they did and it exposed the internal issues with Fish. If he wasn't the right guy i'd rather we move on than keep trying to make it work.

Might have been both.
Durant spoke highly of Brooks. Other players did too. I remember several Bulls Players expressing their admiration for Thibbs.
