Knicks · Hawks reportedly shopping Horford, Teague and Milsap. (page 1)

Just saw on rotoworld that they're considering listening to offers for all 3 of them cause they can't find the magic they had last season. Damn it i wish we had assets to trade cause i'd absolutely love to get Milsap or Teague.

Knicks may be able to slide in as a 3rd team in some trade. I know that doesn't sound exciting but it could still be beneficial depending on what we get. There always seems to be a need for a 3rd team at the Trade Deadline.

Having that open spot and the rights to the euro have to help as well.

If Hawks blow it up, coupled with butler being out for 4 weeks on the Bulls, maybe our playoff hopes aren't quite dead
newyorker4ever @ 2/9/2016 4:07 PM
Just saw that the Pacers are talking with the hawks about a G.Hill for J.Teague trade. We just don't have the kind of players other teams have to compete for trades unless we start throwing in a 1st round pick which we don't wanna do.

That is probably a good trade for all involved. Also Hill and Teague have almost identical contracts. The Knicks don't have the assets to get that done. The best move is probably a smaller deal to get back court help and maybe a second round pick.

Have to believe that the Knicks would not throw Hernangomez' rights into a trade unless we were making a significant upgrade.

At this point, a happy KP is an imperative, and I feel that Hernangomez was drafted because he was a good fit as a player AND as a friend of KPs.

I agree. I meant the other euro. Louis Labeyrie?

I made a post last knight if there was another Portland trade to be made and look at here a playoff team wants to, reportedly, blow up they're core.

Also, if Hill is an upgrade why would Indy trade him? What does ATL gain by adding another vet?

nyknickzingis @ 2/9/2016 5:23 PM
Horford is the only one I see them trading, because he is a free agent in the summer and has a high probablility to walk.
Would the Hawks be interested in Horford for Lopez+Williams? Lopez would be a longterm asset for them. They seem to want a player like Williams since they lose Carroll.

For us it's risky, because we could lose Al at season's end, but would like the chances of keeping Al. Most years and money we could offer, and he's a great fit in the Triangle.

Horford/Porzingis/Melo front line would be one of the best in the league. All 3 guys can give you atleast 15 a night, pass, board, shoot + score inside. Much more versatility. Allows KP to play more Center as well.

If we are able to sign Conley in the offseason

Horford/Porzingis/Melo/Afflalo/Conley is a strong playoff team.

That would be a helluva lineup. I don't know if it's possible, but it's a helluva lineup.

It would take some work, Al would have a cap hold of $16.4m which is only $3m+ more than Lopez. If Williams opt out he would create the same $17m of cape space the Knicks would have if the roster remains the same and everyone opts in.

So, the question is if the Knicks can get Conley for that or will they need to move O'Quinn to create enough room?

nyknickzingis @ 2/9/2016 7:01 PM
If you read what I suggested - I'm saying trade Lopez and Williams for Horford. Re-sign Horford, sign Conley. Call it an offseason in terms of the big moves.

I'd offer Lopez + DWill to Atlanta for Horford and I think they would be interested. May not happen, but still something they'd have some interest in possibly.

The other possibility is Lance Thomas instead of DWill, since Atlanta is looking for a wing/forward type, but I really like Lance. He does play the position that Melo and KP operate the most minutes in, so there's that.

Why would they want Williams to replace Carroll though since those two are totally different players?? Carroll shoots and can actually make the 3 ball and plays defense and Williams doesn't do either one well. I'd love to have that lineup though but just don't see it happening.

The thing about Williams going to ATL is that they already have that role taken care of by Mike Scott. I do not think people realize exactly how ell he is playing this year offensively and he is a better defensive player than Williams.

yeah, i read it. i meant i don't know if the Hawks would do that trade or if Conley would sign here. I would do all that in a heartbeat.

Phil on the MSG broadcast just said "very slim chance" they'd make a trade at the deadline. He said they're willing, but not much out there for them aka teams don't want what we have to offer.
Paris907 @ 2/9/2016 11:06 PM
I like that deal as well as Horford just keeps improving. Yet i would like to see Melo head West for Griffin in that lineup OR head to Chicago with Jose C for Rose and Bobby Portis.
Portis/Griffin/KP/Horford/Rose/D Williams/Galloway/Grant/LThomas/Afflalo

Wonder how he is progressing and if Phil still has any interest in him at this point?
