They gotta get KP MORE SHOTS! I miss the little down screens they used to set on KP's man so he could get a clean shot!!! Where are the little curls he was hitting? No way Dudley can stop KP in the post if they clear out so he can't get help!

On the other side transition D and 3 point shooting from Wizards have made it a huge scoring night for them.

This^. Cut down the turnovers. Hope wiz cool off from 3. And play hard for 24 min

KP isn't stepping out on dudly, and they are taking full advantage of that, on the other end dudly should have fouled out guarding KP

I was so optimistic before this game to see if Kurt would instill some major changes but all he did different was play Melo the first 16 minutes and DNP Jerian and KOQ. And play Sasha a lot.

Our defense is putrid. Oh well.

no 7'3" players can defend on the perimeter. he can put the ball on the floor if they try to close out on him, like any other shorter player with a dribble drive or dribble and shoot. he shows the ability to shot fake so he can draw a foul or shoot once a defender has flown by (like pierce has made a career out of).

in other words-- against ANYBODY

I'm surprised by the use of Seraphin . . . but the rest I've been for.

Setting much better screens would go a long way towards helping us get better looks. ROLO is about the only one who does it well with some consistency.

I've been saying that all year but 69 would get all over me for saying he's better than KOQ.

You just need to decide on one and play them real minutes.

KOQ is a better passer, outside jump shooter and rebounder.

Seraphin is a deadly low post scoring option.

They just need rhythm and minutes.

I think we see a clear change in that Rambis is going to use the post, we're going to use size more so we'll be playing bigger lineups. KP didn't get any time at 5, DWill came in as a 3 for Melo. We were running the Triangle consistently.

On offense it didn't hurt us, it helped. We missed open 3's, and we make a few and we're at 56 points in that half. Anyway scored 50 even with only 2-10 from 3's..

On defense though, man Washington was able to run and able to shoot open 3's easily. If we don't play smaller to match up, we have to play closer to them on man D and allow penetration to the basket because they will blow by our guys. If you play big, you have to get back in transition. You have to give up something, and in today's NBA giving up the 3 is not the wise game plan. Play closer to your man, and give up the driving lane hoping Lopez or Porzingis will bail you out.

Very interesting change - definitely looks like they're going to go to bigger, post oriented play, with heavy dosage of Triangle. This is what I expected and I also didn't expect it to make us better right away.

I understand that but I don't like what I'm seeing so far.

--Jerian and KOQ benched (Sasha the backup 2 off the bench..barf)

--even more triangle heavy

--defense just as bad as it's been

Only things that I've liked so far are keeping Melo in there when we fell behind early to get back in the game (Fisher has never done that) and Seraphin getting a long run.

It's the match ups, if you're not going to make them pay with your size, then match up with your opponent so you give them less of advantage

Good analysis but playing big (and slower) has resulted in the Wiz getting wide open 3's through penetration. They made 10 out of 12 which is ridiculous. You gotta believe that percentage will lower in the 2nd half to our advantage.

Completely reasonable alternative Fisher's approach . . .

rright now although our defense has been terrible, thanks to jose...the difference between the 2 trams scoring is the wiz 3 pt shooting. they start missing 3s, we are right back in it

Rambis (like Fisher) is another guy who would've never gotten a sniff of the NYK HC job if not for his Jax connections and especially after his miserable previous head coaching stint. Let's see if he's learned from experience. Needless to say, Phil Jackson proteges have pretty miserable HC records. In that light, it's pretty difficult to be anything more than guardedly optimistic.

That's like the exact opposite of what they've said they're doing. They're playing to make the playoffs. And they'll figure out the coach after the season.

Which makes zero sense to me. One: We won't make the play offs that appears extremely obvious. Two: Why not bring in the coach now to build for next season and work with the likes of KP. Three: Look at the roster with the benefit of nearly 30 games. Can only assume they want Walton.

One thing the Knicks need is to balance the floor better on Offense so they aren't just running free off missed jumpers by us.

There is no way Jose wouldn't be starting. KOQ maybe gone. Obviously two coaches have chosen not to play him. And Phil wanted the offense to be more triangle heavy. I think things will change but it won't be until after the break.
