The second Curry trickles down it will all be over.
Still this last draft will go down as a superstar draft up and own rd 1 and we FORTUNATELY got our own (as long as he doesnt get hurt)

You thought all these guys eould be this good, this fast?
I'm not going to lie, I was a major doubter of both KAT and Porzingis when this all started. To see them performing they are, is a big surprise to me but couldn't be happier for two young guys with character making it happen.
As for Russell, you have to give him time to spread his wings. Once Bryan Scott and Kobe Bryant are gone, I'm sure he'll be fine. However, he'll be no where near the jump shooter as initially marketed. We were duped by a limited sample size in college that was very impressive. It's why having players around for multiple college seasons is so important when drafting.
Disagree
Kat is great but in 2 years he won't even be the best from this draft. That honor will belong to KP
By then, he'll be unstoppable. Posting up small defenders w hooks and banks. And taking larger defenders outside for 3s or dribble penetration
That coupled w a defense that goes beyond stats
I agree with this. I would be surprised if KP surpasses him. Playing ourselves down in the draft was disappointing. When KP was out of his mind early in the season people we blinding themselves to how good Towns is and was playing. That said, I am glad we landed KP after foolishly putting ourselves in that position.
I don't know about the BEST player in the NBA but he will definitely be in the discussion.
This is looking to be a really good draft..Russell is getting a raw deal in LA but I believe he will turn it around and be one of the better PG in the league in the same amount of time. And I still think J.Okafor has the potential to be a strong force in the NBA

KAT is already doing those things at a higher level and he is younger than KP. Towns post up big and small defenders and can shoot from distance. What happens as he matures and realize he can be great?
Regarding KP he could become great but he will need to really fine tune his game on offense and defense. Hopefully, his strength a2nd endurance will improve as well as his skill sets. He has the potential and I think a full off season working in the gym with trainers and NBA players will be huge for him again.

agree. KAT is great and has a good head on his shoulders.
I just think in 2 years KP and his length and athleticism will be beyond compare.
KAT is fantastic. 35pts last night. Has a chance to be really special. I don't much faith in Minnesota to build that team right though. I think Wiggins is on his way to becoming the next Rudy Gay.
Look at how New Orleans has messed up their team around Anthony Davis. It's one thing to get a superstar talent. It's another to build a winning team around them.
Last year at this time people would've said Anthony Davis was going to be the top player in the NBA this year. He still has the skills, but his team has set him back. Hard to predict how things will develop.
In the first year of his draft class, no one would have predicted Steph Curry was going to be the best player in that class, let alone the best player in the league.
These things take time to shake out. But KAT is very very good and has the potential to be the best player in the league someday.
I believe Kat and Ok4 will have better stats than KP...
But KP will have a greater all around impact on the team.
Towns is an absolute beast. His lines night to night are astonishing for a rookie. Especially his shooting/midrange shooting.
Of course just our luck as Knicks fans we get our "savior" in Porzingis, a talent in his own right with an almost limitless ceiling and still Towns slips through our fingers. Hopefully if it plays out where Towns is best in class and Porzingis 2nd, we can build a better team around him and come out on top in terms of team success. Im hoping!

Thats a pretty good core with Dieng Towns Wiggins Lavine and sixth man Muhammed. If they get Ingram or Simmons they will be nasty.

KAT is only a few months younger than KP. For some reason people mention that like it makes a big deal, it isn't even a factor. This is both player's age 20 season, so its a mute point.

This has been an incredible draft. I believe Towns will also be the best player in the league probably in 5 years, but i think the gap between him and KP and Anthony Davis will be very small. Towns, AD, and KP will be the top 3-5 players in the league, once Lebron, Curry, and Durant begin their declines. Towns and KP are far and away the top 2 from this draft, but it has been great besides that as well. Turner is going to be one of those players people wonder why he didn't go top 3. He's going to be a star. Russell and Okafor will come around and probably be all-stars in their careers as well. Winslow and S Johnson will be starters for championship level teams as well. Plus many others. A very impressive draft, and we are fortunate it turned out well for us.

The core of players in Minn is very talented and the potential is there to become a contender without ever making a move. But the challenge will be actually taking this core of young players and turning the corner into a playoff team before the players get sick of losing and frustrations turn into wanting out. You can only lose in the nba for so long. They have maybe 1 more season after this one to remain a lottery team, after that the pressure will be on or things might fall apart very quickly there.

Their core is impressive. Honestly, if they can get Simmons, I think they should think about trading Wiggins away - too much positional overlap.
I don't know if Rubio is a point guard they can move forward with either.

They need better shooter around Dieng and Towns. I would keep Wiggins because of his Defense and hope he grows into a Luol Deng type player. I just do not know if he has the offensive game to get to the Jimmy Butler/Paul george level. He is still young so he has time.

One of his comps right now is Jerry Stackhouse. He's a very inefficient offensive player. He's very athletic. Reminds me of Rudy Gay.

two comments: (1) looks better on paper; not sure how it will ever translate on the court. (2) While i like what i've seen from KAT the one thing that is tough to judge when drafting is a player's heart. A lot of these guys came from such dominant programs their victories came easy. Are they willing to do all the little things (thankless and not in stats; often the opposite because it involves sacrifice) that it takes to really win at the NBA level. And as crzy said, minn has a penchant for screwing things up
