Melo makes more money than Phil - the Knicks have a lot more invested in Melo's career than they in Phil's. If it comes down to brass tacks, I don't know that Dolan would support Phil over Melo.

Dolan may really like MELO but Phil gained major points for KP! That move was huge for the franchise. Phil is in the drivers seat at the deadline and in free agency. There are some major decisions Phil is gonna be making the rest of this year.

What major decisions? He already picked the coach. We have no draft pick and not many trade options - outside Melo, who he can't trade with Melo agreeing.
The big decisions will come this summer.
I would love Thibs as coach of the Knikcs but I see Luke Walton in our future.

I was talking calendar year, not season! So I was including the summer of 2016 as well. That's why I didn't say the rest of this season.
