Carmelo just doesn't look right. He was never very athletic, but I never remember him this terrible. His shots look bad and his movements on the floor are not looking good at all.
callmened @ 2/14/2016 9:01 PM
i wouldnt put too much stock into this though. the players arent playing hard. and it just gives melo just another excuse not to hustle. lol
CrushAlot @ 2/14/2016 9:03 PM
Phil wanted him to limit his minutes to rest his knee.

Great strategy. I hope the knee is not worst than reported

that phil wanted melo not to play so many mins to rest his knee

PS when i do look closely it does look like Melo is still limping a bit. but i might be looking too hard

Phil said when he coached he would ask guys if there was anyone that wanted to play less minutes and he would respect that. He said he hoped Melo would Mae tat request.

#7 is everywhere tonight.
wargames @ 2/14/2016 10:36 PM
Ummmm yeah Melo looks like he is still recovering from being injured out there....
callmened @ 2/14/2016 10:39 PM
lol. yeah he looks fine
nixluva @ 2/14/2016 11:30 PM
He dunked pretty well from a stand still which surprised me. If his knee was really bad I doubt he would've been able to dunk flat footed like that. Let's just hope he was taking it easy. There's gonna be more rest and rehab days this week too.
WaltLongmire @ 2/14/2016 11:30 PM
23 Minutes...0 assists- Must mean he's getting ready to be taking passes from either Paul or James in a week or so and not being the distributor he's been with the Knicks recently.

It was suggested he take it easy. I think he did. He is a guy tat wen heathy can go off in these games. I hope He was taking it easy.

If your friends have to campaign for you to be voted in as a starter, that says a lot. MJ and Kobe were always at the top of the league in scoring, so you can't blame the system. Plus if all the trade rumors are true, his performance didn't help.
anrst @ 2/15/2016 7:50 AM
Did Tyron Lue whisper to melo ?
nyknickzingis @ 2/15/2016 10:18 AM
Melo is in physical decline.
He's still a legit all-star but one that may be declining as a player each year here on out.

The way to salvage his value is to use him in the Dirk Nowitzki role in Dallas. Surround him with plenty of good shooters and a very good 2nd option. Don't rely on him to score 25-30 a night, more like 20. I think Melo knows this. He needs a quality point guard that takes off the pressure from him as to having to do more than just be a scoring threat (that can pass, still want him passing, but not having to carry the team).

Melo like Dirk could get really hot that 1 post season and do something marvelous. He has that kind of game.

He's not worth 25, 27, 29 million a year, which is about what his contract is going to be over the next 3. That's why I'd be open to trade him. He's making Lebron James, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant money, when he's not even close to the type of franchise player those guys are. Factor he doesn't want to be traded, or would have a trade destination wish list that would severely limit what NY would get back, I'm torn as to what is the best thing to do here.

For one, we could do what we're doing which is keep the future in mind with Porzingis and also try to win around Melo now. That will require us to strike big in free agency. So far all we've got is Lopez and Afflalo, which when you think about it isn't bad. But we need more. We've got about 20 million this summer. Have to make 2 more moves like we saw last year with Lopez/Afflalo. If we can get 2 more players of the Lopez/Afflalo level, I think we'll be in the playoffs next year. Then it comes down to KP's level of play next year and what Melo can do come playoff time.

Melo was playing at half speed in a meaningless exhibition game. How about judging him in a real game?

This should be your take away from Melo's all-star weekend:

Do you believe that Melo wants to be traded? If he does, don't you think he would have tried to show that he was no worse for wear?

Seems like melo is a great guy. Despite the bad defense and horrible shot selection at times...I'll never knock the dude from a personality perspective

I don't think he does want to be traded.
