I think it was the dangle him out there and see if you can get a sucker to give you an amazing offer for him. If no offer blows your socks off then you keep him.
Yup.
Not a terrible idea, although you wonder how Teague takes it.

In some ways, I wonder if the team was trying to send some of their players a wake up call. Team won 60 games last season and is on a pace for 45-50 this season.

Interesting concept...especially if in the end they make NO moves at all.

Who knows - it's quiet now, but last year there was a flurry at the deadline.
I bet Boston is starting to up their offers for Love and Horford and co considerably right about now.
Damn that's a helluva haul for Detroit.
I think that trade may mean that Dwight is also on the move today. And maybe Lawson. Seems like Houston might be blowing it up.
Not because Motiejunas was traded, but actually Thornton. Thornton was one of the Rockets' key players. That's a great get by Detroit. I think Detroit is a top 4-5 team in the East after these moves.

It'll be interesting to see how they piece this all together. Was thoroughly impressed with the Harris deal but have a feeling like this might be overkill and could undercut the impact of the 1st trade.

I think it's a great move for them. Harris will be their starting PF for now, Motiejunas is their PF/C of the future and can back up both spots now.
Thornton will be a great scorer off the bench for them. Exactly the type of player their team was lacking.
Dude....
those trades are garbage. Are they purposely trying to trade with Detroit to take the spotlight from Flint? Pure garbage

Clippers still unwilling to commit to Channing Frye deal with Magic, league sources tell @TheVertical. Cavs have real chance to get Frye.

Tobias Harris
Donatas Motiejunas
Marcus Thornton
Those would be top 6 players on the Knicks. Harris would be our third best player, Motiejunas would be the perfect backup to KP/Rolo and Thornton is the scorer we've needed off the bench all year and some would say he's better than Afflalo.
But okay, good analysis! Thanks!

yeah i have to disagree with eny here too... stan has made some terrific moves. the rotation has been filled out and it seems to me like they are ready to bomb 3's away. going the warriors route.
It is amazing that teams think all the Knicks players are trash but then I read some of these names that are getting traded around.

Yeah Stan is making great trades but what about the other team involved?

That's all I'm saying. Knicks have no assets them teams make all these bogus trades, even adding draft picks like what the hell is going on?

That's 3 rotation players you'd be adding on the fly. I think they will have some significant chemistry concerns and all it'd take is a season ending injury to Drummond, to make giving up that 1st round pick a bad idea.
