Knicks should try to sign Lance if he is waived.
Chandler @ 2/16/2016 8:55 PM
Let's please stop talking about trading a #1 pick. We suck because we traded too many away or made poor choices when we had them. Let's hope we finally put an end to that

In terms of sexy deals we only have one asset that makes sense and he said he's not going anywhere

I hope if we do anything it's probably a minor deal to geta pg with quick feet who can play D, or find some way to clear cap space. Those seem more realistic

And I don't mind Phil being brutally honest about our assets. It's sobering but true.

Lastly, I don't want Blake in NYC and I'd be surprised to see him in Boston. I don't want to sound overly negative about him but he wants to be paid like, and act like, The Man, but I'm not sure he's The Man -- at least not without an exceptional pg, same for DeAndre. I'm sure he could upgrade a team immensely but just have this vibe that he's not championship timber. And to the extent he were to frustrate efforts to get a KD or like I'd pass

The Knicks could use Frye. They need to get on the Watson Victor train.

LOL.

Though if the Magic waive Lance, I would be very curious about taking a flier on him.

I didn't realize next year he has a team option on his deal. I do think the Knicks should try him out for the end of the season if he is waived. He would be auditioning for his next deal and they could cut him if it didn't work.

His best years were in the Triangle with Brian Shaw as offensive coach. Maybe hire Brian Shaw to be Rambis's assistant and give Lance a comfort zone?

If he's on he's one of the best 2-way 2/3s in the East, if not the game.

Also, Phil's good teams have always had a guy who is a little bit of a head case - Artest, Rodman, etc.

I agree. No risk with the chance to be one of the best moves of the deadline.

i would take lance if we just picked him up. with something to play for, i think we'd get the best out of him; he's always had all the skills and that rare size and athleticism, but mentally has never been there. for free, i'd take a shot on him.

Apparently Kevin Martin is a buyout candidate.
