Apparently Kevin Martin is a buyout candidate.
Everyone wants something for free.
If Stevenson and Kevin Martin are waived, motherfucker we need to sign both of them to be our new starting backcourt.

if someone actually gave up a young player and a 1st for this knucklehead, isiah wouldn't look so bad anymore. i'd stay so far away from markieff morris, it's not even funny

Suns get David Lee (expiring contract), Jordan Mickey (young player), 2016 1st round pick (BOS), and a future first round pick from the Celtics.
Knicks get BKN's pick, Lance Stephenson, James Young and Terry Rozier
Clippers get Melo, PJ Tucker and Markieff Morris
Celtics get Blake Griffin
BOOM!
BOOM...not happening. blake not being trade until the summer

I'm all in on K.Martin...L.Stevenson, not so much

I saw on twitter a guy that covers the Mavs said they would want Martin and could offer him their mid level exception. He was speculating. I don't think lance will have that option.

Rozier is intriguing. The Celts are loaded at PG so Rozier has been an afterthought. He looked like he had some game.
Tyler Ennis is also worth considering.
But nobody is giving PHX a first-rounder for Morris - pure hype.

I feel both Martin and Stevenson have been used wing the last few years. If you stick Lance in Calderón role and Martin in Affalo role, the Knicks would be a way better basketball team
We need to remember that if Martin and Stephenson are cut playoff contending teams will be calling. Well, lam not sure on Lance but Martin would get a look,

I posted it in another thread. A guy that covers the Mavs mentioned they didn't use their exceptin and could use it on Martin if he is waived.

Yeah, I think Melo / Blake is the talk of the summer. That's a move too huge to each franchise and player to do mid-season. It's something that will have to be negotiated for a while on all sides, but I can really see it happening.

Do we really want Blake though? Blake and Kristaps as the 4/5? With no point guard or shooting guard?

LOL.
Though if the Magic waive Lance, I would be very curious about taking a flier on him.
I didn't realize next year he has a team option on his deal. I do think the Knicks should try him out for the end of the season if he is waived. He would be auditioning for his next deal and they could cut him if it didn't work.
His best years were in the Triangle with Brian Shaw as offensive coach. Maybe hire Brian Shaw to be Rambis's assistant and give Lance a comfort zone?
If he's on he's one of the best 2-way 2/3s in the East, if not the game.
Also, Phil's good teams have always had a guy who is a little bit of a head case - Artest, Rodman, etc.
good point about Rodman and artest. Probably because of phil's deep interest in psychology he gets these guys self-actualized and focused and not being malcontents
With Splitter out the rest of the year would Grant and OQuinn pry Teague loose?

doubt it, not without a future first included

Honestly, I would think about doing that trade as long as the future first was top ten protected.

Yes. Blake and Kristaps is the best 4/5 tandem in the league quickly and that's a situation that could actually attract Free Agents...

Right - Blake for Melo is pretty salary neutral (Melo actually makes $4M more per year than Blake). We could either trade Rolo or keep him as a quality big off the bench. Add a PG and we'd have a pretty good team.
It's one way to go. I'm not opposed to keeping Melo, but the Blake/Melo thing feels like it will definitely be discussed this summer.
If the Clips offered Blake for Melo, you have to take the deal based on age and potential alone. It doesn't solve the guard issues, but Blake is already a better player than Melo and he's 5 years younger.
