Mike Conley--not even that good. Pay Conley 28mm per??? Or other less guys 1/4 --1/5 for just as much production. Mike Conley isnt Tiny Archibald for goodness sakes. Wed cry if we did that.

Yeah that's a hellz of a lot of money for Conley but he'll get it from someone.

Based on the rumor it could happen,

WOODMANnYk @ 2/17/2016 8:05 AM

Getting Collison and McLemore will not guarantee us a playoff spot this yr. Collison is not a reliable pg and McLemore confidence is totally shot. He'll be on the knicks bench.

At least you get rid of calderon and his contract but how is our cap situation for the summer now after this trade if it goes through?????

yellowboy90 @ 2/17/2016 8:34 AM
It's not just about this year. Also, getting out Karl's dog house may help. One thing about Ben is that his shooting has improved every year. Like I said before I doubt the Knicks do anything.

I think they want to keep AA instead of trade him.

yellowboy90 @ 2/17/2016 8:58 AM
It seems a lot of these rumors and the two trades that went down had a lot to do with player/coaches previous connection.

Yeah i think Phil wants to keep AA to. I know we give him a tough time on here but he's really not a horrible guy to have, i just think we expected so much more from him. If we get a legit point guard and a big man that can do the things that KOQ/Seraphin don't do then i think we'd value AA more or even get a new SG that can be a 3 and D guy and move AA to the 6th man spot we'd be much more happy with him.

AA is an avg player and he doesn't do the little things that you would expect a veteran to do so why keep him if you can get a younger vet who could play comparably the same and eventually be better? It's not about getting a better pg it's about AA not passing, defending, or having a offensive game to carry his short comings.

I don't know if Sac want him but if they did value him and we're willing to give up Ben, Phil would be silly not to do it. Especially when there is a chance AA opts out.

Yeah i'm with you so don't get me wrong here cause i want Afflalo gone as well and i agree 100% about that he doesn't do any of the other things he should be doing besides trying to score. He doesn't look to pass and doesn't rebound and his defense isn't as good as it used to be cause he actually used to be a good defender but he has that opt out so unless a team wants to give up anything of value for a guy that will only be with them for the rest of this year then i don't see him having much value. I can see a team that's in the playoff talk now trading for him to help but not giving up much for him.

I learned this week that Melo truly does not care about winning. Phil never should of resigned him we are stuck with this albatross

Jmpasq @ 2/17/2016 9:56 AM
Anyone who thinks we can make the playoffs still is delusional. The season is over, the only thing left for us is to make sure we dont hand Toronto a top 6 pick

Actually you didn't learn that because that's absolutely ridiculous to think anyone doesn't care about winning. It's laughable to even think that. Melo made a statement during all star weekend that i love. He said winning one championship in New York would be better than winning multiple championships anywhere else. The guy is committed to winning a championship in New York and for anyone to not like him for that is an idiot. The guy is committed to bringing us a championship and he's putting himself through playing on these crappy teams when he can accept a trade today to a winning team and if you can't respect that then you're the one with the problems.

+1

But why listen to actual, meaningless quotes, when you can hear the voice of truth in your own head?

Plus, Melo only wants to win ONE chip with the Knicks! What an effing DOUCHE!

Actually, I learned this week that he meant to say he wanted to win one chip in Brooklyn!

Also making the playoffs is not over yet. There's still a chance they could go on a win streak or at least a winning close to the season where they can get back in it. 5 games back isn't exactly easy but it's not impossible. They have to try and it would be good to close the season strong and show some life for potential Free Agents.
