Also Melo isn't lifting his no trade clause
Baby steps. An upgrade to the backcourt without impacting the future. Getting into this draft (either round), a smart free agent signing or two and a competent coach (could even be Rambis).
I really want somehow someway to find a way to get a first round pick tomorrow although i know that will never happen. The bargs trade is gonna bother me for a while especially if it ends up as a lottery pick
i would LOVE for dolan to sell the team...so since this thats not happening, id settle for Melo lifting his no trade clause. he stagnates any meaningful progression of this team

agreed. Drafting KP has made me feel hopeful for the first time in years. I feel he already is our best complete player
No miracles. To either get or develop another talent up front. I like melo rolo and kp. We need one other really dynamic talent but not necessarily superstar. Would be ecstatic w KD, and pretty damn happy w Giannis (which will need some work to get).
We also need more talent in back court. I think grant can develop but not sure if we want team success to rely on that actually happening. I like Aa but we need a more complete 2. Someone who does all the little things and who most importantly makes really good and quick decisions with the basketball. Oddly enough I can see Westbrook playing a 2 for us better than a 1. Not sure why but he seems like the anti-triangle as a 1. He too would be a huge win and unlikely. I don't have that plan B, maybe someone from the Blazers. They always seem to have talent there.
More things that won't happen, but it would make me happy to hire Thibs and sign Mike Conley to a reasonable deal.
Things that could happen that would make me happy -
1) Hire Luke Walton and he brings in the Triangle, but with some updates and tweaks to it
2) Keep Melo
3) Let Afflalo opt out and go, buyout or stretch Calderon, trade KOQ to create more cap room - with a $92M cap that should give us about $33M in cap room. Cap could be as high as $95M which would give us $36M
4) Sign Nic Batum to a deal starting at $17M per
5) Sign Brandon Jennings to a one and one deal for ~$12-15M - give him an opt out after one year. You're overpaying a little, but when he proves he's healthy he can opt out for a new deal here or he can leave and we can chase Westbrook in 2017
6) Bring over Hernangomez for back up center
7) Re-sign Galloway and Lance and Dwill to reasonable deals.
8) Acquire another defensive PF or C.
PG - Jennings / Grant
SG - Batum / Galloway
SF - Melo / Lance Thomas
PF - KP / DWill
C - Rolo / Hernangomez / defensive big
edit: forgot to add, for this season I'd really like to bring in Tony Wroten and take a look, for the love of Mike.
