“That’s what I told the team. That’s our No. 1 goal. We have no other goal than making the playoffs,” Rambis said.

That tells you a lot about why Fisher got fired.

yeah as much as i agree with fisher (that the priority isnt necessarily the playoffs - folks act like making the playoffs will make free agents automatically come the ny. lol)..as much as i agree with fisher, the head coach cant say that...especially if the boss doesnt want that said

I kinda miss 'the process'
VCoug @ 2/17/2016 11:10 PM
He also said this which is massively concerning:

More interesting tidbits from Rambis and KP:

This is going to be a very interesting close to the season IMO.

As rightly you should . . . if someone starts proposing that it's mutually exclusive to "winning".

Still, I understand if Rambis is just reminding people that it's not only process.

I don't lose much sleep over this kind of stuff at all.

"In Phil We Trust".

meloshouldgo @ 2/18/2016 6:30 AM
So who's this Rambis dude again?
nyknickzingis @ 2/18/2016 8:29 AM
Sure they need to stay focused, and try their best to win every single game.
Can't let down now.
27 games left, to make the playoffs, will need to win at least 19 of those 27, probably 20.

Still, I'm more interested in seeing what the offense looks like and if we can get as many reps in as the season winds down for longterm players like KP, Melo, Lopez and Galloway.

fishmike @ 2/18/2016 8:44 AM
it should be the goal. Its a mostly veteran roster

Hey anything is possible! Woody had an 18-6 run! This team lost a ton of close games so if they can get over the top in more of their remaining games it's entirely possible to make a playoff run. I'm just going to try to enjoy watching the team and of course KP.

How do I tweet Rambis? he should add Gallo to this list. Guy has stones, and will most likely be left open

Chandler @ 2/18/2016 10:35 AM
part of "the process" should be do what's needed to win. You can't build a winning culture, and accept loses as easily as fisher seemed to. No accountability etc.

I'm pretty sure he'd not have a problem with Gallo if the others can't get a shot, but I think Rambis main point is that he's going to actually call plays or rather ACTIONS that will lead to his best scorers getting great shots. It's not some rule that you can't run actions for your best players in the Triangle. That was a Fish thing. I saw no sense to the fact that KP seemed to never be involved late in games. The few times he was it was pretty good.

It's really not hard to have Melo, KP and AA as the main targets given that you can just put them in actions that lead to them getting the ball and screens set for them to get open. There are plenty of actions that I think could've been used so i'm sure Rambis has even more ideas of how he can make sure to get his best players the ball to close out games.

Fisher should have been fired after the Trip to Utah. Had Phil replaced the dude, our record would have been much different
