Knicks · Building internally by default: get used to it (page 1)

These nba teams are out of their minds. In the summer they overpaid every bum on the market. Now at the trade deadline they gave away every draft pick they had for bums to save money....

fuck it were all alone.

Knicks need to stay the course and only waste energy building internally. Only sign guys that want to be here. No more trades. This is where we are.

We build from within

They do have like $20M+ in cap room this summer. I'm sure we'll get a good piece or two, then.

But you said it - why overpay now? Why give away a first round pick? Or Grant? Or Hernangomez?

This is the time to be a little patient. See if the team can play better the rest of the way, then re-evaluate in the summer.

If Afflalo and DWill opt out and we chose not to keep them, we'll have $35M in cap room and Melo and KP (and Rolo and a few other solid pieces). Go from there.

totally down with the plan! get to work; rely on who is here

knicks biggest strength at the moment is their chemistry. for all their failures there have only been a tiny number of games where you could question their heart

We build from within

Build from within--we dont have Tidewater or am I missing something? We can solely build on free agency and cough cough trades only with no current picks. And just to cap it--we spend 100mm and were not really that good--more question marks. Need younger legs.

Its great to have guys like Lou Admundson Sasha Vucajic Kyle Oquinn Kevin Seraphin for good quality chemistry--especially since were were only one of a few clubs holding 14. I can see how we can build from within.

I don't know what your point is, or even if you're trying to make one. If you're doubting that this team has good chemistry, competes and fights for one another, you're seriously wrong. It's a good thing and something to build on. I have to imagine that in itself is attractive to FAs as compared to other teams that look talented on paper but in-fight and underachieve, see Houston

You mean like when we are down 25 at home to Denver and follow it up going down 30 to Detroit? It is good heart to fight back when the other team goes on shut down mode. Well this was a learning year I guess. We have NO shot at making the playoffs--too many teams on top of us.

sure choose those. but i think it proves the point. good teams fight back when down by 25 or 30 and a lot, i'd say the vast majority don't. And, I think it's attractive to FAs. They can sense that

We are headed in the right direction and doing sensible things. We are right to build internally and to try and develop Grant and get meaningful contributions out of guys like DWill and Thomas.
