Isola just lives to trash the Knicks. Thing that bothers me isn't that he doesn't have some points but how about a little bit of balance? He NEVER presents the other side or brings up any possible positive aspect of what the team does.
In any event Jimmer makes sense because he's been playing in the system for months and given how few remaining games there are it does makes some sense to go with a guard that you've been watching closely for months. A kid like Frazier would have no chance IMO. He may have some ability but the learning curve would kill him and I think Wroten would face a similar hill to climb. Not to mention that Wroten hasn't been playing. Based on the timing I think this was the logical move. This also helps the W Knicks players to believe there's hope if they keep working hard!!! Lets hope he has a break out performance and helps the team during this final stretch.
Isola is a hack and writes trash.
There is no way anyone can tell me that Jimmer could possibly be any worse than Jose is right now at this stage of his career. Jose is easily the worst defensive starting point guard in the game with zero penetration and zero chance of drawing fouls.
And call me crazy but I have a feeling that Rambis will actually give him a real shot with real minutes.
Rambis is coaching for his BBall Life right now. I'm sure that if Jimmer is killing it in practice that he's not gonna hold him back rather than play a guy that could help. This team is so starved for scoring that I can't see how he doesn't get a shot!!!

Jimmer's defense defense might be as bad as Calderon's. But since all of our guards are trash, might as well bring in another. He could possibly play any worse than the ones we got.

I have to think Jimmer won't be as reluctant as Jose to shoot. Maybe playing him alongside Grant works so he is off the ball similar to his role in Westchester.

Agreed jimmer brings a lot of elements that the back court is missing... Scoring, getting to the hoop, pushing the tempo, transition 3's. I hope they give him the ball and let him do what he can do... Sorry frank jimmer is about to hit his prime basketball age and brings a hell of a lot more to the Knicks then Jose ... Jose might not even make a dleague rotation let alone start ... Jose it's time to retire.

I don't like Jose as a starting PG, but I think he can be serviceable if used as THE backup SG

Fredette knows the Triangle, knows how to shoot and also can penetrate a defense. He's best off with the starters though, where you have 2 bigs to cover for you on defense and also have lots more freedom with defenses geared towards stopping KP, Melo etc.
Can't hate Jose. Ultimate team player. He'll be coming off the bench next year if he's a Knick.

You could say that about the posters here on UK, but can any of us help the big club win games? We are just not NBA talent, and neither is Jimmer. I think we are all stuck in the sink hole of - anything is better then what we are getting now from our guards now.
Personally my only interest in Fredette is that he is someone of interest that I will watch a game just to see if he gets minutes and what he does. I am a fan and I am bored, that's pretty much it. Jimmer is not a PG for a playoff team, but we suck so lets give him a turn. We will all wait till the last 2 minutes of a game to see if coach puts him in. We will all groan when he doesn't even dress for a game. It's Jimmer time!
nyknickzingis@ 2/19/2016 7:23 PM
Fredette has NBA level shooting ability and also has good speed on the break. Given the opportunity Jose has, it wouldn't surprise me that he'd score 13-15 points on a consistent basis. The issue is that his defense is just as bad as Jose and that he is streaky. He can go for 25 one night, 3 the next. He's like Galloway in that regard.

Yeah this guy is something else. Plus he's wrong in that there will remain interest in Jimmer and if he does actually play well that will lead to more stories. Isola, some media guys and some fans are so convinced this is a bad team. They can't imagine that the Knicks could go on a run. It's not impossible as they try to make it sound. Any team that has lost as many super close games has a chance to go on a run if they get rolling.
He's 100% right.
Jimmer has been garbage since he's been in the league, and if you take away jose and grants minutes for some d leaguer who has blown every chance he had to be on a NBA roster even as a 15th man, what does that say about 11 yr vet, and a promising rookie, that there not even d league material.
What does that say about phil who traded for both those players only to have a d leaguer replace them

I'd have to say Jose probably not starting material in even the d league ... Can't penetrate, needs at least 4 feet of room just to be 50 % from downtown when he's givin 2 feet of room 20% . Cant defend probably makes jimmer look like a good defender... Jose can't even create for himself or his teammates on offense. Jose is a 15th man on most NBA teams and no one would ever pay 7 mil for a 15th man ... Jimmer is not a star but to say he's worse then the worst starting pg in the NBA after winning mvp is a down right insult to jimmer ... Jimmer would destroy Jose one on one all day long

Except that Galloway has grit and can actually defend to an extent.

When our entire sheehit backcourt eats the Jimmer alive in practice, and suddenly Jose gets 4 blocks in 3 minutes guarding that hitchy little jumpshot, and everyone else is tossing his fucking little floaters into the folding chairs, this thread will disappear like a crowd listening to IT making a speech at a women in leadership business conference.
NoBody Defends League. They call it that for a reason...
fitzfarm@ 2/20/2016 12:17 PM
Yea Jose can't do what this kid can do even in the dleague ...can't wait to see this kid change our back court ... He at least can hit open shots and drive to the hole ...24-9assists,7rebs
Who cares if his defense isn't great. Jose is the worst defensive pg and worst all around pg in the league.
I hope they give this kid the ball and say go have fun.
Rookie@ 2/20/2016 12:20 PM
Jose was -17 last night, Ouch! I don't really get +/- stats, but that is probably not good
CrushAlot@ 2/20/2016 12:21 PM
Posting and Toasting had highlights of Thanasis having a big night as well. He was hitting the corner three and he presses full court on the inbound. The Knicks have a lot of weaknesses. I don't think Lance is right since his knee/concussion issues. Too bad there wasn't another roster spot. The Nets had a lot more energy last night on d. Thanasis brings that.

Why does it seem like you are taking this personally? The 10 day contract is basically an audition. If what you say happens he will have failed his audition and go back to the D League. It seems like a lot of people have a lot of animosity against Jimmer for no reason. You seem to forget that Gallo, Lin, Whiteside and a lot more good players have also came from the D League. Just because you have a stint in the D League does not mean you will never be anything more than a D Leaguer.

The hatred is creepier than the worship IMO. I don't think he will be more than marginal if anything but, man it is like people transfer their hatred of Jimmer fans on to him. He is well liked by people on his teams so I hope he sticks as a frigging 15th man.

The basketball breakdown people did an article on Jimmer and what his impact might be on the Knicks.
