You know he would love to come back to New York. He can still contribute offensively. He cannot be any worse than Lou? He's a great 'locker room' guy. It makes way too much sense to release a scrub and sign D LEE back for the remainder of season.
Lee has he right skill set to be great in the Triangle. Not sure how Phil feels about adding him tho. Should be interesting to see what Phil does with all the Waiver guys out there.
No. Please, no. Lou is not very good, but he is a way better defender than Lee. Which doesnt mean that Lou is any kind of decent defender.
He would be a better addition than Seraphin
Likely he wants to play for a contender
Lee isnt good anymore folks. lol. i want no parts of him (apparently he wants to go to Dallas)
we're good in the front court - we need help in the back court.
Knicks should absolutely approach DLee. Maybe he wants to come back to NY? Who knows? He's so far and away better than KOQ or Seraphin.
But Mavs are supposed favorites...

I don't think we are good in the front court - the drop off when both Rolo and KP are on the bench is insane.
Promise DLee the third big role on the team. Playing time in the place he started his career. I don't think he'd get as much PT on the Mavs. PT is basically all we have to offer at this point.

I think we're fine with Melo, Rolo & KP up front, and D Wil, KOQ and Seraphin off the bench. If those three have looked bad, I'd argue its partly system, partly a coaching staff that had no idea how to develop a rotation.
Is there a drop off? Of course, every team has a drop off in talent.
But our back court sucks with the starters and back ups.
I do agree he would work well in this system- he is a cerebral, great passing big man with a lethal mid range game.
His best days are probably behind him, and we should be looking for diamonds in the rough, not embers in the ashes.
All I know is if Lee played tonight we wouldve won!
And if we still had Shved and Moz, we'd be on the heels of the Warriors!
Oh wait, you meant if DLee played for the Nets, right?
David Lee can still play. It's just he was victim of a championship team catching fire and a rebuilding team wanting to play the youth. I have no doubt that he would ball for us in this offense off the bench.
Knicks still need to improve the back court. Getting lee could still be a big time addition on and off the court.
All I know is ...if Lee played last night vs the Nets, we wouldve won! same with the jimmer

no he cant play anymore. lol. last yr i gave him a pass (injuries, championship roster). but if you can find playing time against immortals like Amir Johnson, Tyler Zeller, Jared Sullinger then your not good. He was never good on defense and now with age/injuries hes worse. his best assets were low post scoring and rebounding but that has declined with age/injuries. Coach stevens is an EXCELLENT coach. if he didnt play Lee, then there was a good reason.
im just tired of picking up other teams trash. i dont mind young trash with potential. but not old trash with baggage and a fading career
Bring Dlee home. It's a no-brainer.

Thats what you say about everyone you don't like.
Signing with Dallas for the $2mil room exemption
David Lee is expected to sign with the Dallas Mavericks for the room exception of $2.1 million after he clears waivers.Lee was waived by the Boston Celtics on Friday.

Dallas has to waive someone to make room for him.
Lee has had a great start to his career in Dallas. He can still put up numbers, no doubt about it. I would love to bring him in as a free agent this offseason if we have the cap space after a significant signing. Doesn't seem likely though.
