That was for you my brother. Weren't you one of Fisher's biggest supporters?

I was supportive of the process that we hire a young coach and let him develop. I was not aware that he was not receptive to Rambis and Cleamons. I thought what ever he lacked, like Brad Stevens, Kidd and others would work thru it. At .500 it looked pretty good, even by your standards. The Slide was obviously telling of other symptoms not known.
If you recall, I think 8 coach's in 15 years is pretty symptomatic of a badly run organization. Rather than get a coach whose best days are behind him, I applaud the road less traveled. Thats why I supported Fisher.
I also applaud not mortgaging the future for a quick fix in the back court.

Keep chucking Melo -- you really step up BIG in our biggest games. T-Wolves are such a tough opponent and we are lucky to see you play such a great game and lead this team to so many great victories.

I never proposed to mortgage the future in the back court; be fair. I proposed to trade RoLo and Jose to the Bucks for Monroe who happens to be a similar player to aflalo and MCW. How is that mortgaging our future when the return talents will be better or comparable? Financially, the deal would have made sense for both teams.
As it relates to the young coach as you've stated, I and others saw nothing from the dude that was promising. He was too proud to accept Phil's guidance; or better yet, the was too proud to even confer with one of the best to ever do it on the sidelines. It was very evident to me from the jump; specifically, when he suggested that he was not Phil's puppet.

Oh my!
Great personal achievement.
But has nothing to do with Knicks.
Knicks years set him back and rub him from chips and greatness.
Sad... Sad... Sad...

<< ... supportive of the process that we hire a young coach and let him develop... I was not aware that he was not receptive to Rambis and Cleamon>>
Nalod I hear you
But where I feel off fast in 1 1/2 of Derek Fisher, you'd think Fisher would appreciate the hiring, the contract $$ committment
the Knicks & City (NY) and was going get time to develop starting his 2nd season here.
However when this fool Fisher spent time chasing As_s and booty tail, more than honing his skills, impolitely dumped his wife
for some as-s Its clear to me as Knick fan his priority wasnt even to COACH and GROW. Immature for a guy like Fisher whom
been around a Laker team with mature players. Throw in not receptive to coaches Rambis/Cleamons whom has few rings like
derek, is Despicable.
I was wrong on Woodson. Woodson had spirit "wrong" team and too committed to JR Smith.
Fisher was an embarrassment to NBA and to NYK Org., not for his coaching but disrespect to goals & between the lines of the game
of life, don't mix personal with work business. Fooling around with Matt Barnes woman, and rumors of date request Tim Hardaway jr
rumor from Derek Fisher .. he's lucky just Matt Barnes Kicked his ass prior to NYK Firing his tail.
Can't stand Fisher, Folks say wish the best? I would not wish a thing for him.
Taking temporary Coach Rambis well worth it 150% to have Knicks rid themselves of Derek Fisher who didnt care about any NYK processes
here for NBA storied franchise like our NY Knickerbockers

Whats a good supporting cast 2 more all stars and the 6th man of the year. People will always make excuses about Melo's cast. Carmelo is a very good player but he was never better than a 2nd tier star

Yeah, and that year we did what for the first time in almost 15 years? I forget. Oh that's right, our 2nd tier star got us out of the first round of the playoffs. With most of his supporting cast either wussing out completely or playing like sheehit or fighting inanimate objects.
What a small fringe element of really really smart people will do is downgrade whatever Melo achieves because in order to validate their own self-percieved NBA intelligence, they need to ensure Melo is a bum. He's a 2nd tier star who just happens to be the most prolific scorer this franchise has ever seen.
He's a 2nd tier star and an All-Star. At the same time. Amazing how that works.
But KP, who hasn't accomplished sheeehit in comparison, inspires love and kisses from the same small band of small-minded HateBrothers. Just like the LinLovers. Just like we'll soon be reading from the Jimmer groupies. Not that KP is either of them, but the HateTicks will attach themselves to ANYONE ELSE'S testicles while whining about Melo ball washers.
Please, give it a fucking break.

I didn't call Melo a bum, and a 2nd tier star is not really an insult. It means he is a very good NBA player but not a guy that can carry a franchise which is the truth
Yes Melo is a great scorer but for all his scoring he hasn't done a lot of winning. Melo should do whats best for his legacy and for the Knicks, let us trade him this offseason. It makes no sense for the Knicks to build a team around him at his age. The Knicks need to be real bad next season to get another young All Star on a rookie deal. All Melo will do is ensure the Knicks overpay for an aging Guard that makes them the 6th seed in the East.

Melo will be the 1st tier star if he will win something or at least will contend for something.
His self defeating money grabs are his downfall.
Money you know is not all it is to the legacy of the player or man for this matter.
We cannot take even one cent on the way out but greatness is forever in memory.
Not to late for Melo to grow up especially he has enough money already for the rest of his life.

he has played some great games this season, starting around 10 games in when he got the memo that he had to be a better playmaker and defender. he delivered on that and all knicks fans were surely pleased, even those who decried the supermax contract and the no trade clause. in other words, not only was he playing great he was also justifying what had been a ridiculous contract.
however
he has also started to show worrisome signs of physical decline. people seem to forget that he has played 32,000 minutes to get those 22,000 points, over a span of 13 seasons, not including all-star games, olympics, pre-season. the physical decline could be precipitous going forward, essentially making his contract a horrible deal for the knicks.
he says that winning in new york even once is the equivalent of winning three titles anywhere else, and i can certainly agree with that. it would certainly cement his legacy as a knick. if he doesn't then his legacy will be a bad one-- it is unavoidable.
if he wants to win a title in new york it will have to be on limited minutes in order to extend his career as a starting-caliber player. it should not matter whether he starts or comes off the bench, what matters is that he be on a minutes restriction on the order of 24-28 minutes a game. i think it'd be a feel-good story of he were to win sixth man of the year the same season the knicks win a title.

You make a very good point about his knees. Probably the only thing that I'm worried about. I did not really like Melo trade but now think Melo is our best player and makes the team better. As well as I got tired of all these other All Stars refusing to come here. Also think Melo has shown a lot in last two years in terms of adapting his game. Think he deserves credit. Perhaps you can answer what ive asked several others. Many bring up the Denver trade but dont even know what we actually lost. Do you know who we lost when we gave up 2 second rpunders and 1 first rounder? It seems to me that the only player Denver kept that is doing well is Gallo?

You make Avery good point. I did not like Melo and now think we are lucky to have him as no other All Star is dying to come here. His knees are the only thing worrisome. Too bad because his style of play has improved. Was asking several others that quote the Denver trade but maybe you can tell me who they missed on by giving them the 1st and 2 seconds in the draft. Who has Denver kept amd are excelling with them currently? I can only think of Danillo. And after being injured for quite some time.
gallinari for sure, but injuries have waylaid his career-- when he is healthy he justifies his being 6th pick in the draft and he is also a top 10 small forward right now. wilson chandler? even worse than gallinari in terms of durability and he turned out to be a journeyman type anyway. mozgov is the only other player in that deal but it seems like he has fallen off. the draft class in 2014 was weak even if the knicks might have been in line for a top ten player that year. 2012 second round, however, had crowder and draymond green so that's a huge, huge missed opportunity. 2013 second round had nobody of note.
the bargnani trade the knicks gave up a first round pick this summer. that's going to also hurt.
