Knicks · The official "and on a positive note......" (page 1)

Nalod @ 2/25/2016 1:49 PM

KP had a great game last nite and almost had his heroic moment......
and Jose Manuel Calderone hung 20 pts 6 for 10, and four for four from the 3?

KOQ had 19 pts in 16 min?

Personally I don't think KOQ can play more than 20min but knicks get some credit for playing a good team in their building and taking it to the buzzer.
Moral victories don't do squat for the standings but maybe its a crawl back game and they can build on it.

Staying positive, What do some of you think the knicks did good last nite?

ChuckBuck @ 2/25/2016 1:55 PM
Galloway, despite some questionable passes and turnovers at times, looks like he might break out of his shooting slump.
Nalod @ 2/25/2016 2:05 PM
based on +/- the bench looked to have a good nite. Sasha +7.
markvmc @ 2/25/2016 2:11 PM
Coach hasn't slept with any of the players' girlfriends yet.
Chandler @ 2/25/2016 2:13 PM
teamed showed grit coming back

he also had back breaking turnovers in the clutch and a missed game winner, guys like cousins, anthony davis put up great numbers in losing efforts.. doesn't mean nothing

mreinman @ 2/25/2016 2:31 PM
I did not go to the game - positive
GustavBahler @ 2/25/2016 2:36 PM
Jose and Sasha made the all valium backcourt to start the season, but he has been playing with a chip on his shoulder for a while now. Jose's scoring lately is very welcome. IDK how many minutes he's getting, but with Grant getting less minutes, I hope Rambis doesnt play him too much. Is he coming back? If he is, no sense in playing him until the wheels fall off. Same with Melo, either way, better not to add another possible injury to the list.

Grant is showing more energy, but he still plays scared. Pick and Roll was his bread and butter, and its lesser role in this offense has taken away his mojo.

KP still can put up great numbers, but for whatever the reason be it the rookie wall, comfort level, whatever, he seems to be reverting back to more of his Euro game. Early in the season, as soon as the other team shot the ball, you would see KP crashing the boards, now too often he isnt even in the screen. That has to change. With his wingspan he should be in the paint banking shots high off the glass, back to the rim or not. KP using the glass more which is great, but he needs to move in closer, make shorter defenders pay. Also allows him to kick the ball out.

KP is still way ahead of the curve, so overall he is definitely in the plus column his rookie year. Doing things few rookies have ever done. Still work to do but he's self aware enough to know it.

O'Quinn has to keep shooting, if he doesnt, he wont get the space to operate, create space for others. Thats why he was in such a slump, they didnt have to play him close because he wasnt making them pay. He's too small, and his post game isnt good enough to live in the paint.

GoNyGoNyGo @ 2/25/2016 2:48 PM
Gallo, KOQ.

Need more of them and some Grant please.

jrodmc @ 2/25/2016 4:53 PM
Melo took the Pacers loss on himself..."no excuses"

...and the Nyets are still worse than we are; they are going to buy out JJ. Phoenix has lost 12 in a row, 27 out of 29.

Yes Nalod, you can take positives from other's negatives.

nyknickzingis @ 2/25/2016 5:25 PM
The positives this season are

Porzingis emergence immediately as a viable 3rd option, potential quality all-star 2nd option soon and that he's ready right away to play big minutes.
Lopez was a worthwhile solid signing. He's both a solid starter that produces or good trade bait if we make a move.
Melo has shown leadership.
Galloway has shown he was a great pick up. Basically we got a 1st round pick there. He was on a 10 day contract and we got his rights now and should be able to keep him longterm.
Lance Thomas, Derrick Williams and Kyle O'Quinn all perform well if given minutes off the bench. All fit in. Only problem has been finding enough minutes and the right rotation.

On the flip, we all know the negatives, begins and ends with the backcourt, and also Melo's declining physical state leading him to being less and less of the player he once was.

you mean the player that leads his team in assists on a regular basis? who continues to board like an obsessed animal? Who is a leader and a mentor to up and coming stars? Is that the player you mean?

The same guy that can barely play 60 games a year and is withering and declining before your rose tinted eye glasses and won't last the last 3 years of his $124m albatross Allan Houston contract...yea.

Vujacic is not any kind of full-time solution . . . but whenever it comes down to:

"WTF do you guys thinking you're doing out there (?)
Have you completely spaced out what we're all about here (?)"

. . . then Vujacic is an invaluable tool to sort things out in real-time.

I'm 100% with Rambis's intuition on this. No-brainer . . .
